February 4, 201313 yr Flying wing for Rob in the Tristar. Well, crashed on first attempt, but retryed on the following night with no problems
February 4, 201313 yr The baton is free at SKMZ. God, that was a b*tch! Overcast, Ceiling about '600, and no runway lights (just vasi) Sheesh! And steam ain't NO help! I would have made it in under 2:00 if I hadn't circled the runway a few times just trying to find it and get lined up without running into any granite clouds. Craig Taylor
February 5, 201313 yr Nice one, Rob! I don't think I could have put a 'Heavy' into someplace that hairy under those conditions. Speaking of, can anyone recommend a decent L-1011 for FSX? Some snaps from my leg. Craig Taylor

February 5, 201313 yr Good luck, Leon. Don't forget, you need to include what you're flying in your post for the race. Craig Taylor
February 6, 201313 yr Baton transferred to wingman. Out of fuel, and domestic duties call. Craig Taylor
February 6, 201313 yr I have the baton MMPA --> MMLM since the winds look like junk up high going to stay low in the Bearcat. Roman This is an exercise in futility.. Didn't even check the range from the white sheet ( Guess too early in the morning..) - leaned out, prop reduced, will make it although slow.. The valves are going to need to be replaced cuz they be burned up! It's going to be real close to the 2 hour limit. Update - winds took a turn for the worst..Not going to make it on fuel or time.. Diverting to either MM1G or MM1S. Winds at 10K 265*@33, at 18K 275*@60! Edited February 6, 201313 yr by spokes2112 FS RTWR SHRS F-111 JoinFS Little Navmap
February 6, 201313 yr Baton Free @ MM1G  Next leg MM1G (MM39 in FSX) to MMLM Roman It's time for the GPS to go into the avionics shop.. This thing went into self test about 1/2 through the flight and wouldn't reset. Tried everything, avionics off, batt off etc.. Used VOR nav the rest of the way. Thank goodness all the VORs were long range. FS RTWR SHRS F-111 JoinFS Little Navmap
