Good choice. I bought this monitor 2 months ago and it is really good. Quality build and I love the 2560X1440 resolution. I came from a 1080p 40 inch TV to this and I don't miss the 8 inch but love the sharpness of this one. PS: Just saw Jimmy RFR respond this also - touche.

Have had the Saitek Cessna Yoke and rudder pedals for 2 years and would never go back to a Yoke not even to fly the Airbus. Still works solid after 2 years wear and tear daily.

Do you have the latest FSUIPC installed? I had the same issue and found a thread mentioning that the Immersion package requires FSUIPC to work. I installed the latest version which fixed the black smoke.

I found this to be the best setting also. All other options caused issues with both NGX and 777. Also using reversers with throttle switch control causes issues.

Happy New Year Glenn. Latest version is SP1c. You can DL it from the website and install on top of your base installer. Good luck with your new plane. It is one of the best planes ever made for FSX. It won't let You down. Remember to get the latest Navigraph airac cycle for the FMC.

Another LOL. Steam has no benefit for any serious flight simmers. I actually thought it was spyware and removed it from my PC years ago.

It is never a good idea to upgrade your RAM by adding new sticks. Will often give instability and BSOD. RAM is very sensitive and must be from the same batch to work together. If You want to upgrade to 16 GB buy new sticks and less is best. 2x8 work better than 4x4.

All above is correct. N2 % between 20-25 will work and the engines can be started with ISOL valve in AUTO Position. One thing missing in Kyle's list as no. 3 is APU Bleed ON.

FTX Global is a must but FTX Vector still creates all kinds of texture anomolies and elevation issues with 3rd party add on airports. If you get some LC for the world like Scenery Tech together with FTX Global the world looks much better in my opinion. I don't own UTX but I believe it includes LC and can be configured to work with FTX Global.

I have REX Essential OD and paid $3,99 for the P3D upgrade. Fast and painless install into P3D. The cloud, sky, sun, taxiways, runways and water enhancements after installation just blew me away. Default P3D didn't look right to me but REX and FTX Global really made it a gamechanger.

+1. I can chime in here with the same behavior noticed. The real plane can activate the reversers after speedbrakes have been deployed before the nosewheel touches the ground.

I am sure You can have both installed and fly around the City in a default Cessna without having an OOM. But flying into KLGA from FlyTampa KBOS in the NGX is a gamble.

Also it is not the amount of memory You have on your MB that matters. FSX has a VAS limit of 4 gb and will crash when You get above 3,9 Gb. DD Nyc X and DD Nyc airports enabled at the same will break the bank when You fly in with the PMDG 777. Also AI traffic will increase the VAS. Try with no AI and disable the DD scenery not used. Only have the airport You are landing at enabled.

I do not use AI since I fly on Vatsim but I get 20-30 fps at UK2000 EGLL with traffic(IVAO MTL). If I fly into EGLL with FTX Europe enabled in the 777 or NGX I will get OOM most of the time. Using FTX Global and EU LC I have no OOM even on longer flights from FB KIAD or KDEN. Worth noting is I am using Scenery config editor and disable all Orbx airports and other UK2000 airports beside the one I am flying to, EGLL or EGKK. If You have selected FTX Global in FTX Central all your Orbx airports are still enabled in the sceney library. Back on topic I believe that the AS EGLL will be more VAS intensive than the UK200 version. Looking forward to some feedback on that. E: I did try Steve's DX 10 fixer and actually had an OOM on my first flight with it. Also like You I have better visuals in dx9. My solution to avoid OOM is described above. I can add that I use TML 2048 and autogen at normal, no AI and no road or water traffic.

Great product and a must have.There is only one drawback for Vatsim users. Because You need the SDK In the option ini of the 777 the plane keeps sq ident when you use the vpilot client. The issue has been acknowledged by PMDG and vpilot and will be fixed with the next Update of vpilot.

I would rather turn down scenery than experience an OOM but I will not disable the add on airports that I depart from and arrive at. Having all the FTX regions installed and FTX Global I switch to FTX Global when flying in and out of the UK and also Ireland with Dublin X. This way I never have OOM's with the NGX or 777X. With FTX Europe enabled I got OOM flying into Dublin X or UK2000 Heathrow both in dx9 and dx10. Nothing worse than finishing a flight on Vatsim 5 miles from touchdown.

Orbx LC_N America does NOT turn off FTX Global textures. It only tells the sim which textures to display in certain areas. Also the Orbx LC_N America is not a complete LC set for N America. It is not released yet if You check on the Orbx forum. The current LC entry in the library I believe was made to change the desert textures displayed in SW US.

From the looks of it KJFK seems better than FSDT v2 and if that is the case I will gladly uninstall my FSDT and use this instead. Seems like a bargain for 3 major airline hubs. KJFK and KEWR for international flights and widebody domestic flights and KLGA for domestic flights with A320 and B737.

Flightbeam has just set a new standard with the release of KDEN. Also KPHX, KIAD and KSFO from FB are top of the list for US airports. Add KDFW, CYVR and KLAX from FS Dreamteam and you have a good mix of destinations in the Western US. Then add KBOS, CYUL and KTPA for Eastern US combined with the excellent freeware KPHL from SunSkyJet. KJFK and KORD from FSDT are still good but getting old and don't stand up quality wise compared to the others. This would be my top 10 for the US ( 2 Canadians). You just posted before i did and I see you made some good choices. PS: You don't need Orbx NCA for KSFO to work. It looks great with FTX Global.
