January 15, 201313 yr Is there a noticeable % impact on performance using SweetFX and DX10? Could anyone using it comment on how stable it is and please post some pictures along with your specific settings and customization (e.g. AA, FSX bloom on / off, etc). Thanks.
January 15, 201313 yr In answer to your enquiry, no. As to your request, here http://forums.guru3d...ad.php?t=368880
January 15, 201313 yr I read Sweet FX and the off-shoot ENB series mods do not work with FSX DX10. I think there's a thread somewhere in this forum (don't have time right now to look for it). I thought this utility only edits DX9 only and thus you have a modified d3d9.dll in your FSX folder. It does not modify the d3d10.dll. Apologize in advance if this new edition now edits DX10 too. January 15, 201313 yr Yup - ENB does not, but Sweet does work, Jim, though it's a bit like when one over-sharpens and heightens the luminence in a photograph in PhotoShop. I do like it, I've used it, but it's changes are not so significant that I want another addon in the sim. i7 [email protected] | 32GB RAM | EVGA RTX 3080Ti | Maximus Hero VII | 512GB 860 Pro | 512GB 850 Pro | 256GB 840 Pro | 2TB 860 QVO | 1TB 870 EVO | Seagate 3TB Cloud | EVGA 1000 GQ | Win10 Pro | EK Custom water cooling.

Best regards, Jim Just to clear this up. This is the very first line of the SweetFX readme file. Version 1.3SweetFX is a universal image improvement and tweaking mod, that works with almost any 32bit DirectX 9, 10 or 11 game or application. SweetFX does work in FSX Dx10, using flies named dxgi.dll and dxgi.fx I have already posted a link to accurate information about SweetFX.
January 15, 201313 yr Just to clear this up. Guess I need to do some research.... I thought I had read it was not. Obviously I was wrong. Thanks. January 15, 201313 yr Just to clear this up. This is the very first line of the SweetFX readme file. SweetFX does work in FSX Dx10, using flies named dxgi.dll and dxgi.fx I have already posted a link to accurate information about SweetFX. I used this additive, and really makes a difference, maybe use as this source is not indicated for FSX as it was configured for other games where if he had to highlight more colors, has many settings in the file which will allow SweetFX_settings experience a long while. It also has the effect DX9 but adjustments should be much more intense to take effect. Regarding the installation is only arcivos copy in the root folder of FSX, this does not alter the simulator being that if you delete the files after the simulator remains as before. One thing is important for this to work you must have updated the DX10. I hope it helps.
January 16, 201313 yr Author Thanks very much for the feedback and info performance and setup all - I'm off to give this a try with a few different config settings which hopefully won't gum things up too badly [fingers crossed]! p.s. I understood your message just fine Padolamap - much appreciated :good:
January 16, 201313 yr Author Okay I'm back, and almost embarassed by how easy that was..! Downloaded and installed the sweetFX files from here (thanks NCooper): http://forums.guru3d...ad.php?t=368880 Downloaded an updated settings file from Post 9 in this thread: http://forum.avsim.n...x/#entry2505200 (SMAA off, HDR and Bloom on) Updated some DX runtimes (thanks padolamap) I've got to say changes in color and contrast are pretty spectacular, with no impact on performance. Here are few screens with the processor on and off - now to tweak the effects to make them a bit more realistic  Default + FSX bloom: SweetFX + FSX bloom Default without FSX bloom: SweetFX without FSX bloom:
January 16, 201313 yr Dylan, very good your catch, and if you make a real difference. I also use a free program called DXTBmp to spend some textures on everything from airplanes to 32 bits Fairing and see the smoothness of these planes as well as the highlights in his painting, the important thing about this is not to change the format so if the texture should remain BMP BMP and NO DDS, has a copy of the folder with the textures and then changing it to the original, keep in mind that you must make the change from the pond in which he says in some cases only texture
January 24, 201313 yr Just to let you 'experimenter' folks out there know - I've been using SweetFX for a week or so, now, and I really like it, as it is way more configurable than ENB ever was, adding a configurable bloom, configurable contrast, configurable brightness - and so on. Here are my "final" settings, if anyone wants to try them, be my guest! i7 [email protected] | 32GB RAM | EVGA RTX 3080Ti | Maximus Hero VII | 512GB 860 Pro | 512GB 850 Pro | 256GB 840 Pro | 2TB 860 QVO | 1TB 870 EVO | Seagate 3TB Cloud | EVGA 1000 GQ | Win10 Pro | EK Custom water cooling.
January 25, 201313 yr Thank´s Paul but waay too bright for me. Ok, I ´ll test it later with bloom and shadows in fsx disabled and adjust some in SweetFx.
January 25, 201313 yr Yeah I expect it's because of our individual monitor's normal setup. I find most ENB and the SweetFX settings which I've tried are usually too dark.... i7 [email protected] | 32GB RAM | EVGA RTX 3080Ti | Maximus Hero VII | 512GB 860 Pro | 512GB 850 Pro | 256GB 840 Pro | 2TB 860 QVO | 1TB 870 EVO | Seagate 3TB Cloud | EVGA 1000 GQ | Win10 Pro | EK Custom water cooling.

January 28, 201313 yr Paul - what is the latest on this. Have you come up with a final "final" version for us to try. I am a little hesitant because I had so many issues with ENB, probably because I use a second monitor to undock panels. Anyway, willing to give it a try as long as I can remove it without causing an long term damage. Mark CYYZ
