January 21, 201313 yr Hi all! I would like to start my 2013 set of screenshots with this set It's a technique called tilt-shift, which makes things 'miniature' with some blurring. First time using this effect, enjoy! Feedback appreciated! Cheers Happy Flying, Clem Wu Beta Tester for OZx, Iris Simulations and Shade.
January 21, 201313 yr Excellent job balancing the colors and making them happy but not over- or under-saturated. You did a great job showcasing the best of the scenery in the first image—a great balance of buildings, green trees, and water. What scenery is that?
January 21, 201313 yr Great shots! They are extremely realistic. So we never need a new simulator, do we? LOL David Chen
January 21, 201313 yr Author Excellent job balancing the colors and making them happy but not over- or under-saturated. You did a great job showcasing the best of the scenery in the first image—a great balance of buildings, green trees, and water. What scenery is that? Thank you very much Owen, much appreciated. I learnt from tilt-shifting this set that you can't over-blur nor-oversaturate! The scenery in the first image is orbx's Portland City freeware with the PNW region scenery. Great shots! They are extremely realistic. So we never need a new simulator, do we? LOL HAHA maybe... just maybe.. Cheers! Happy Flying, Clem Wu Beta Tester for OZx, Iris Simulations and Shade.
January 21, 201313 yr What are the sceneries you are taking these shots with? The scenery in the first image is orbx's Portland City freeware with the PNW region scenery. By the looks of the terrain in the other images, I am guessing that the shots were taken in around the same area.
January 21, 201313 yr That's a really cool effect, Clem. I wasn't sure what you were doing at first and thought those really were miniatures. Is it possible to confine the blurring to the top and bottom of the screen, and not the sides? This would be closer to the depth of field problems when taking shots of miniatures without a view camera's swings and tilts. (Of course, *with* swings and tilts it's possible to get everything in focus) The colors are right on. Gotta love it. Hook Larry Hookins Oh! January 21, 201313 yr Author Thank you for your compliments! By the looks of the terrain in the other images, I am guessing that the shots were taken in around the same area. Yes, all within PNW. Concrete and Israel's Farm are also featured in this set. That's a really cool effect, Clem. I wasn't sure what you were doing at first and thought those really were miniatures. This is my first time using this effect and I used the Iris Blur function instead of the Tilt-Shift function. Using the tilt shift function would remove the blurs on the side. I'll try using this technique soon again! Cheers Happy Flying, Clem Wu Beta Tester for OZx, Iris Simulations and Shade.
January 21, 201313 yr I'll try using this technique soon again! Looking forward to it! Anyone who has ever worked with photos of wargaming miniatures will immediately recognize the effect. Hook Larry Hookins Oh! I have slipped the surly bonds of EarthAnd danced the skies on laughter-silvered wings;
