FSX Road Traffic Problem

Featured Replies

There is NO mention anywhere of static traffic, nor is there any item titled "terrain".

There should be a menu bar with items like "File", "FSX", "Ultimate Terrain", "Advanced". In the Ultimate Terrain menu there should be an item called Change Road Surface Colors and you'll get a window with some options. See this post for example: http://www.simforums.com/forums/utx-europe-road-textures-barely-visible_topic31024_post177845.html#177845

The Scenery Solutions guys over at simforums are very helpful so that's a really good forum in case you have any trouble with UTX.

Another thing about AI road traffic is that it moves waaay too fast for my liking. There is a fix for that

SLOWER AI ROAD TRAFFIC

Computer Specs: i5-4690K 3.5 GHz overclocked to 4.0GHz / MSI GTX 960 4GB Video Card / 16GB Kingston HyperX Fury 1866MHz DDR3 System RAM / MSI Z97-G45 Motherboard / Crucial MX200 500GB mSATA SSD

I used NickN's guidelines for setting up UTX, there are some good settings here:

Search in the page for "HOW I PERSONALLY SET UP UTX"

The guide includes removing the auto imprints.

Another vote here for NickN's UTX guide.

My computer: ABS Gladiator Gaming PC featuring an Intel 10700F CPU, EVGA CLC-240 AIO cooler (dead fans replaced with Noctua fans), Asus Tuf Gaming B460M Plus motherboard, 16GB DDR4-3000 RAM, 1 TB NVMe SSD, EVGA RTX3070 FTW3 video card, dead EVGA 750 watt power supply replaced with Antec 900 watt PSU.

The problem was indeed caused by the Road Surface Textures in UTX

Awesome, I learn something EVERY day here at AVsim... I actually thought this was some quirk of FSX, so just ignored it, even though it looked pants, but I learn now that it is indeed UTX that does this, and changed mine too :-) Thanks guys.. (I have UTX-Europe)

BTW the users' manual can be a better friend than Google, for it will tell you about useful stuff for which you didn't even have to ask.

Thx, I did not realize that "auto imprint" meant the static traffic. And to clarify another statement, it is important to know that the moving traffic also can be turned off from the "roads" menu on the right: when you select it, a message appears saying that it can cause a severe frame rate hit when left on (but Ilike it and leave it on).

Sorry about the confusion.
