What's your level of immersion? [Airliners]

Recommended Posts

I'm just curious what everyone's personal preferences are, I'll put the list below of numbers with specifications, comment your #! IF you feel as though I should add something, post it in the comments

1.

Always increases the sim rate

Doesn't use real world routes

Doesn't use proper airlines on routes

Doesn't follow real-time or weather

2.

Commonly increases the sim rate

Rarely uses real world routes

Rarely uses proper airlines on routes

Rarely uses real-time or weather

3.

Sometimes increases the sim rate

Sometimes uses real world routes

Sometimes uses proper airlines on routes

Sometimes uses real-time or weather

4.

Rarely increases the sim rate

Usually uses real world routes

Usually uses proper airlines on routes

Usually uses real-time or weather

5.

Never increases the sim rate

Always uses real world routes

Always uses proper airlines on routes

Always uses real time or weather.

I sit at about a 4.5 because I'm not willing to even use a 737-800 on a flight a 737-700 does. But I'm a little more lenient when it comes to using real world time or weather because I enjoy night-time flying on airliners more often than not.

Why does it have to be any? :) None of the above and all of the above. Depends what mood. If I feel like flying a few landings, do I insist that the weather be exactly as it is in the real world at the same time? No. If I feel like flying upside down because I'm bored, I do, and I'm a 1. If I feel like I need total realistic immersion, then I'm a 5.0. The only thing is that I insist that the planes that I fly, and that I keep around, be capable of very high levels of realism. I don't care much for the casual approach when it comes to the simulation of the airplanes themselves.

Guess I am a 2. I tend to stay away from real world routes and larger airports. I base the weather on what is happening in the real world, but may change the cloud base or visibility depending on facilities or terrain at my destination.

Never increases the sim rate

Never uses real world routes

Never uses proper airlines on routes

Always uses real time or weather.

Not sure what score that would amount to but that's how I do it. I mostly fly A2A's Stratocruiser and Coolsky's DC-9 on historically completely inaccurate routes.

I would have said 5 if I owned the PMDG 737-600 or 700 but I don't (only own the 800/900 version) so it has to be 4...

4 is the nearest, I don't use real world airlines though, I have my own FScaptain virtual airline I like to fy with, allows me way more freedom to fly with any airliner I want compared to using some real world airline.

I usually use real world routes, however sometimes for when I fly with birds that don't have FMC modeled I might use simplified routes.

I never increace simrate though and use real world weather almost always.
