Are clouds like this possible in FSX ?

Featured Replies

Hej All

Snapped this shot during the week on the way out to Vasteras.

Just wondering if clouds like this are possible in FSX, as I must admit that I've never managed it in my setup - if so, please let me know how !

Do you mean complete overcast or does it need to look exactly like your picture?

Try Opus with FEX, REX etc

I use OpusFSX and it gives me an overcast that looks pretty much the same. I've seen both REX and Active Sky doing the same.

So yes, FSX can give you clouds like that.

Many thanks for the replies.

As I'm using both REX and ASE, are there any particular settings that I should have that will provide thick overcast cloud conditions as shown ?

Set your cloud density slider at maximum under weather settings..

Set your cloud density slider at maximum under weather settings..

More then that set the cloud density setting in the fsx.cfg file from 8 to 12. Note it will revert back to 8 if you make any future changes via the GUI sliders.

Thanks

Or get Opus, then the sliders are all you need :P

I know, just tried to make a joke, I also didn't now that you had too edit the config file with REX/ASE to get full overcast...that's why i suggested to use max sliders like with Opus..Sorry for the inconvenience

I only learned that within the past month myself, and it has made a difference for me.
