March 22, 201313 yr Thanks for your comments. I still wish the jpg captures displayed the scenery as I see it in FSX. The jpg captures lose some of the sharpness. I'm glad Michigan was enjoyed. My next set of screenshots will probably be over Kentucky, which Tileproxy renders beautifully. John
March 23, 201313 yr Excellent detail in the second, third, and fourth images! The more I see this aircraft, the more I want it!
March 23, 201313 yr Excellent detail in the second, third, and fourth images! The more I see this aircraft, the more I want it! I wish Carenado had made the pressurized version of the 337, but as their aircraft go, this is my favorite twin from them. It's easy on the framerates, easy on the eyes, and as a VFR platflorm the pilot's viewpoint being forward of the wings is great. I have to laugh--one time I tried to take off, and I could barely get in the air after a terribly long takeoff roll. It was only after I switched to spot view that I realized the aft engine wasn't running! Glad it's just a sim and no one was watching! John
March 28, 201313 yr the skymaster is one of my favorites planes, looking forward to more of this. Mine too when it comes to sightseeing. Great model and the range of vision is wonderful! It is my airplane of choice when flying in the Caribbean with Latin VFR scenery and REX textures. I'm actually glad they went with the non-pressurized version just because the windows are larger. I do wish they'd gone with the turbo'ed engines, though. Yes, I know there are user mods that can enable turbo-charging, but it's not the same as having the real-deal fully modeled. As for the rear-engine running part, standard RW procedure for the 337 is to start the rear engine first and if you prefer to taxi with only one engine use that. Procedure also calls for you to always advance power on take-off on the rear first and follow with the front. Feels weird if you're using to flying standard twins where you always want to keep power even, but lots of "twin" things are different on the 337. :-) Bottom line, what you did has happened often IRL. Nice images, BTW! Scott
