Hello guys! I have a big problem with my FSX. I have bought a new cooler so I can get higher speeds from my CPU, but now my FSX is not running well, only 17FPS at 4.5GHZ!!!! At 4.2 GHZ FSX was running 25FPS with any addon at any airport. What should be the problem here, I also updated BIOS from ASUS site and my settings were set to default, I don't know if this is the problem, I have a few pictures so you can take a look to see if I'm doing something wrong! My current O.C. is 4.3GHZ, my sistem is stable with PRIME, my temps are OK. PLS help, I need my FSX back as it was!http://postimg.org/gallery/17zuvecw/

Overclocking?

You are using offset mode, so you should change C states to avoid BSOD and freeze - C1E Enabled, C3 and C6 disabled.  

 

About fps, what settings you have in fsx? And what tweaks you use?

Overclocking?

I have tried to go back to my initial settings (4.2GHZ) and the problem is the same, frames not higher than 17FPS!!

Do I need something else installed for FSX that windows updater missed?!

Something is wrong with my computer, but I don't understand what!!?? I've just installed FS2004 and it can't pass 25 frames, what I'm doing wrong, this is getting frustrating !!??

Delete your fsx.cfg, the program will write a new one on startup.  Then just add in the highmemfix=1 and leave it at that for now.  Set in-game to max anti aliasing and set filtering to anisiotropic.

Make sure you disabled turbo mode and if your running Amd POwernow it was giving me the same issues when I overclocked

I can't disable TURBO, if I do I can't overclock. I'm not using AMD Powernow

Anytime you update your ASUS BIOS, it WILL revert your entire systemboard back to defaults, so you will need to re-overclock it again and reconfigure the settings.

I use the AI Suite 2, and it works brilliantly, but make sure you get the latest version of it from their website, as the CD version has a lot of bugs.

 

Leave the TP switch on, on your systemboard if it has it, or just leave turbo mode enabled, then run the AI Suite 2 overclocking facility and it will sort it all out for you. Its blooming awesome.

 

I have updated my BIOS many times, and every time it does it, my entire systemboard is reset back to factory defaults, so its worth keeping some notes on what settings work best for you.

Unless your cooler is really bad and is making things hotter, then that will not be the problem..

I have found that I have a 4GB ram stick fault, so I remove it and now everything is back to normal, I'm so happy!!!!!
