Flylogic Switzerland

Featured Replies

Today i saw a Rail Away Switzerland edition. The scenery around Lugano with the lakes and mountains looks quite breathtaking. Wondered what it would look like from the air in FSX...

I guess then the best thing to go for is still Flylogic Switzerland, right ?

I searched for comments about it here but it didn't turn up that much... Does anybody here have it ?  It is still quite expensive, is it still worth the price ?

Thanks for any tips !

cheers,

Jan

Yes it is quite expensive. Used to use it in FS9 many moons ago. Bought an FSX copy when they released it, a good few years ago now.

Is it worth the price? For me yes, I have always loved Switzerland. Flylogic also do a range of airports that fit seamlessly into the scenery package.

The most rescent boxed FSX version also includes the FS9 version on a seperate disc so I have been told..

Arnie....if it ain't broke, don't fix it...

It looks great from any altitude, so it is really nice for both airliner and GA flying.

For me it was a complete waste of money, I can't still get over it. Awful coloring and quality of textures. It's like you are flying over one huge broccoli, honestly. Is it that hard to do some contrast and color correction in Photoshop? No comment.

If you create a photo scenery of Swiss in FSEarthTiles, the textures will look much better that Swiss X.

Current system: ASUS PRIME Z690-P D4, Intel 12900k, 32GB RAM @ 3600mhz, Zotac RTX 3090 Trinity, M2 SSD, Oculus Quest 2.

Definitely one of the best photo sceneries! The included mesh is awesome too, and the textures for winter and night and the 3D night lighting are fantastic!

It's an ok product, but doens't look good at very low altitudes and some of the autogen are very out of place. If you love flying in Switzerland I would reccomend it as I haven't seen any other product out there that do the same(photoreal with autogen). But It's not anyway near the detail of e.g France VFR products. The coloring could have been better though...

I agree with Kaboki. And the mesh has to be desactivated to fit with many Flylogic small airfields because there is no slopes.

Until orbx does switzerland, flylogic si the best. Money well spent for me.

Thanks much for the comments, gents !

So it's good but not the bee's knees, as one would expect re the price... I think i can see in the screenshots what you all mean about coloring and altitude. Your comments didn't urge me to hit the buy button, still thinking it over. Switzerland IS a great flying environment, isn't it.

Thanks a lot again ! B)

Another option is using GEX or the upcoming FTX Global until a better Switzerland scenery is released. The screen shots for both look excellent.

If you want an ultimate Swiss VFR experience, buy AeroflyFS. Itls cheaper than Swiss X and the visuals and the ground textures are amazing. i think the whole Swiss is done in 0.50 or maybe even in 0.30m/p.<br />

Yes, thinking about that too. FTX Global WIP screenies look pretty awesome. I do have GEX and UTX Europe... Switzerland looks Ok but far from s.p.e.c.t.a.c.u.l.a.r....

Bought it the day it was released... Great fun to zoom across the valleys at treetop height in the F-18 but that's about it... Textures are indeed stunning but not even being able to start my engine, let alone to use any kind of nav aid makes it pretty worthless to me.. It's an RC sim with which you can sit in a rudimentary VC, more or less as a passenger who's granted a couple minutes stick time... If i hadn't bought Real Flight already i'm sure i would've loved the real Aerofly RC variant.

This Aerofly Swiss scenery (plus autogen, preferably) in FSX WOULD be the bee's knees, wouldn't it ! B)
