Saitek throttle problem with majestic q400

Featured Replies

Hi

I'm using the saitek pro flight Yoke with two throttles.

I can't get it to calibrate properly.

I have it set to DISC so it idles just about,as soon as i touch the throttles they both just to shoot forward to max throttle and the aircraft shoots off like a rocket. If i pull back it just goes back to DISC.

there is no slow movement of the throttle at all.I'm using FSUIPC  and someone suggested  using the NGX profile that i have.just doesn't work at all.

I have also tried setting it up with the Configuration program provided with the Q400 ,that didn't work at all

anyone with the Saitek pro managed to make it work with them??

  any ideas

I feel your pain I have worked with mine around 5 hours. I have set the N and no reverse zones but to no avail can I get the thing to quit dropping into beta and reverse. Maybe the guys at Majestic could help us out, the docs are unclear and don't provide a way to use a button for the reverse. I have finally gotten tired of try and figure it out and parked the dang thing. Very frustrating and the web so far only holds announcements about the release searched bing and google to no avail. Will let you know if I figure out something digging into Petes docs now to see if there may be a solution to this problem. Good luck. Cpt out.

Hi mate

i can help you with the reverse thrust part.

If you have the Saitek throttles like me and use two levers as throttles .when they are pulled right down you will feel the detente ,Under the detente FSuipc sees this as a button.so in fsuipc Go into the Buttons+ switches  section pull down the 1st lever and Fsuipc will detect it.select the Fs Control option and a list of commands will open ,scroll down until you see Throttle 1 Decr click on that then tick Repeat while Held.

Do this for the second throttle.

Now when you go past the detentes you will get reverse thrust for both engines.

just one other thing i managed to get idle thrust by pulling down the gate and entering the numbers into the relevant section.

amazing some people have no problems but for others it's a nightmare.

You know every other airplane I fly is set up that way, so I will give it a go and see what shakes out. Thanks guess just having a prozac blonde moment. Let you know. . You also figured out what I did. But that little trick didn't seem to work as you work your way up. I was also trying to do that with the Prop adjustments so they aren't all at the top. Good luck man will post back here when and if I figure this out. We can keep it all together just to help our other saitek users. I actually have the Yoke, Throttle, Addon Throttle Combat pedals, Multi, Radio, and switch panels. So I am really going at it full on to try and get it all to work. Cpt out.

Hi RJ

For me at the moment the Q400 is unusable.I spent hours like you yesterday trying to sort out the throttles..

It's fine at Idle, once it goes past that there is no smooth adjustment, just goes straight to MAX.never seen that before with any addon aircraft.

very frustraing.

Are there users here who have the Saitek Controls working.??

Take care RJ

I have the same problem. I tried inputing the values as per instructions, but the throttles just don't match up. I'll follow this post and let you know if I can figure something out.

Thanks

Hi Steve,

I've got saitek yoke with 2 throttle quads , I also have a ch prducts throttle quad.

Just to let you know I have had no issues setting up the power levers using the saitek throttle quad attached to the yoke.

I have it set up so the detent is set for DISC, the 25 mark is Idle , the 75 mark is rating and full emergency power is full throttle.

I have fsuipc registered and plan to set up full reverse using the reverse button however in the few flights I've down so far haven't missed full

reverse yet, that may change once I start trying smaller strips lol

one thing I did do on the Majestic control panel when setting up the power levers was to set the reverse box at a minus figure so it is ignored as the quadrant can only go down to zero.

Happy to talk you through exactly what I did if you want either here or via pm but I wanted you to know it does work with saitek kit,

hope this assists

I have it set up so the detent is set for DISC, the 25 mark is Idle , the 75 mark is rating and full emergency power is full throttle.

Hi rich

The marks we're talking about are on the Saitek throttles.

I haven't really noticed them before.

so for instance.

Move both your Saitek throttle levers to the 25 mark .

Enter the number that appears in the Position box into the IDLE box.

Now move the two saitek throttle levers to the 75 mark.

And enter that number into the DETENTE box.

Pull both Saitek levers to the 0 position and put those Numbers into the DISC box

Push saitek levers all the way up and put those numbers into the MAX box

hope you get what im saying rich..it's quite confusing at first.

Well here goes nothing. I set up the Saitek just like I do with the other planes. I have the delta set to one. When I put the zero into the boxes on the Set up for the throttles and do throught all of it with the props as well, when I pull down on the the throttles I wind up in full reverse. The frustrating part is I can fly with them that way, but running the risk of beta to reverse is truly not realistic. A gear lock switch usally prevents this form happening Until you put pressure on the gear it shouldn, be able to reverse. On top of that when you make adjustments, you have to reload the dang plane That is truly unheard of in the Win 7 world for most products. But I have done that to the point of being blue in the face and red in the buttocks. I know we are all trying to use a program for to program two other peices of software and something has most definatly gone astray. I can't make this work and have become truly frustrated with a 50 dollar peice in a hanger I can't use. We need more documentation and a little support from both sides of the coin. I am a paying customer of all and the support really peaves me. I don't have an issue with Saitek, Pete or Majestic. I have legally purchased them all. Nuff ranting I guess we will just tinker and reload until it works then maybe one of us can remember how to make them work. Cpt out.
