May 15, 201313 yr what's the nite lighting like on the panel, and do they use the new taxi lighting that illuminates the ground? Here's a vid. Looks really nice. They would do well to put a tutorial or at least some more vids out on this baby. http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=efGh7caVqnQ Gregg Seipp "A good landing is when you can walk away from the airplane. May 15, 201313 yr ...just make it PMDG worthy PLEASE! I guess there's no market for it... That's exactly why. You could stil try to do an online petition for [your favourite bizjet] though. May 15, 201313 yr It looks extremely nice. Really nice VC. I would like it to have the GPS tied to the autopilot, though, I'm ok with traditional nav. May have to ponder picking that up. I'm pretty sure it can. There's a GPS/NAV switch in the VC. | My Liveries | FAA ZMP | PPL ASEL | | Windows 11 | MSI Z690 Tomahawk | 12700K 4.7GHz | MSI RTX 4080 | 64GB 6000 MHz DDR5 | 500GB Samsung 860 Evo SSD | 2x 2TB Samsung 970 Evo M.2 | EVGA 850W Gold | Corsair 5000X | HP G2 (VR) / LG 27" 1440p |
May 15, 201313 yr Why does the Xtreme prototype Lear package get left out of these conversations? oh yeah, I know why. Like the real ones, it has no FMC so you have to actually fly it. It isn't perfect, but it is pretty good. regards, Joe +1 I love the Lear20 package! IMO.That things terrible and not just because it doesn't have advanced avionics. The graphics are not great in the VC, and even worse on the exterior, the autopilot is horrible but..... She has to be the only bird out there (besides the Milviz C310) that actually flies like a real plane! The dutch roll is one of the least simulated characteristics in our add-ons and this little girl has lots of it! And it's what gives her soo much character! I can't stop flying it! Can't really comment on the flying characteristics of the airliners as I've never flown them, except for a couple of hours on a full motion 744 (and the PMDG is pretty darn GREAT!) Diego
May 15, 201313 yr It looks extremely nice. Really nice VC. I would like it to have the GPS tied to the autopilot, though, I'm ok with traditional nav. May have to ponder picking that up. I'm pretty sure it can. There's a GPS/NAV switch in the VC. But I still don't think the autopilot will follow the gps track. I think that's just for the HSI NAV source. Maybe though Did you ever fund the optional FDE?
May 15, 201313 yr I'm pretty sure it can. There's a GPS/NAV switch in the VC. I read their FAQ and it says it doesn't. No doubt the originals didn't have GPSs at all but, I'd bet a lot of them have been retrofitted. I wonder if their FAQ needs updated. May 15, 201313 yr A lot of them actually have fms's. The UNS1 series kind. That's what I would like to see, try could even use the ISG gauge
May 15, 201313 yr The graphics are not great in the VC, and even worse on the exterior, the autopilot is horrible but.... That's the problem isn't it. There's always a weak link...usually the VC...sometimes systems...or a combination of both. I'd probably get this one if the graphics were great even if it didn't have the FMS. I probably wouldn't get it even if it had the FMS if the VC wasn't at least very good. The Mustang is above that line, though, not by that much. The stock GPS doesn't but the RXP530 as a popup will control the autopilot. I know this to be fact because I installed 530W as a popup and the plane will follow the flight plan loaded into the 530. | My Liveries | FAA ZMP | PPL ASEL | | Windows 11 | MSI Z690 Tomahawk | 12700K 4.7GHz | MSI RTX 4080 | 64GB 6000 MHz DDR5 | 500GB Samsung 860 Evo SSD | 2x 2TB Samsung 970 Evo M.2 | EVGA 850W Gold | Corsair 5000X | HP G2 (VR) / LG 27" 1440p |
May 19, 201313 yr That's the problem isn't it. I have to admit that the XP Lear20 was not an add on that attracted me at first until I had a go at it on a mates sim. I too felt the graphics were (are) below what is expected of developers today. But, what attracted me the most was the FDE. It has given me an immersion level I have not felt with any other add on (and that includes the PMDG greats). Since this thread was put up, I have dug a little into the textures of the XP Lear, and I am looking at improving them (inside and out). I have done some minor tweaks on the exterior - and she looks fab! Diego
May 19, 201313 yr I think you will just have to wait until PMDG gets around to the 737-BBJ for your 'PMDG Quality' biz jet. In the meantime just take one of the many BBJ schemes for the NGX and then have your bizjet fun. So you can't fly 6000NM without a fuel stop, oh well...your pax probably want to stretch their legs anyway. Perhaps BBS or FSL will also do an ACJ variant out of their A320 series. An interesting alterative would be the Lotus L-39C. While not a biz jet really, there are quite a few L-39s flying around as GA and Airshow birds. Likewise, the A2A civil P-51 is a piston warbird, but performance wise it will damn near keep up with the biz jets...probably similar to that of the Citation Mustang actually. For me, the P-51's big V-12 makes my heart pound with excitement more than those little hairdryer engines on the Citation Mustang  Out of all the warbirds, the P-51 is probably one of the only types still used as an actual X-country transportation tool by certain rich folks. Kidding aside, I too would love to see a classic accusimed bizjet such as a Saberliner, Falcon 10/20, Jetstar, early Lears, Hawkers...etc Cheers TJ "The knack of flying is learning how to throw yourself at the ground and miss." - Douglas Adams Tejon 'TJ' Stanley
