June 14, 201312 yr why do you need central air conditioning, portable a/c will do fsx in summer I have to use them both :(
June 14, 201312 yr Fortunately (?), summer is a rare meteorological phenomena here in Sweden. Same here in the UK! .......... CPUs overheating due to ambient temperature is one problem we never have!
June 14, 201312 yr Same here in the UK! .......... CPUs overheating due to ambient temperature is one problem we never have! CPUs shorting out due to contact with water is a frequent problem for you, however.
June 15, 201312 yr Wow, that's hot. I think we in the UK often forget the sort of temperatures you guys have to contend with. Having said that, if I transported my overclocked system to Arizona, I wouldn't have any issues. My high end air cooler, at my overclock [3770K at 4.5] cools my CPU to 35C above ambient. So in Arizona's 40C weather, I would still be at 75 degrees, high, but a safe temperature. The moral of the story, is to always consider Delta-T when deciding on your degree of overclock. If you have hot summers, then you obviously need to overclock less. After all, a few hundred MHz can be the difference between safe temps and excessive temps. And a few hundred MHz makes very little difference in terms of performance. If room temperature was 40C and your CPU runs 35C above ambient it would be TOAST.
June 15, 201312 yr I have to use them both :( Can i ask what part of the world you running this pc at, i mean is it temperate. Also if you having to use portable and central in summer , a duct from pc going out will help reduce your electricity bill due to airconditioner. Also investing in a big tower case with good airflow will also help.
June 15, 201312 yr If room temperature was 40C and your CPU runs 35C above ambient it would be TOAST. No of course it wouldn't. 40 + 35 = 75C does it not? CPU's throttle back around 90-95C and shut down if they get hotter. Below 80C is a safe temperature under load. High yes, but as I say, there would be no issues with shutdowns. 105C is TJ Max for the 3770K.
