SWA Penguin 1 Uploaded to AVSIM

Featured Replies

I have just uploaded my version of Southwest Airlines Penguin One" livery for the PMDG 737-700 NGX WL to AVSIM and it should be available shortly. There are not alot of good pictures of this aircraft available on the web yet, but thanks to a buddy out Southwest I was able to get some that help with the accuracy of this repaint

It's available for download now!

So when people saw my version (which was released before the real plane landed in real life) they said it was bad, yet mine looks exactly the same. Good Job Though :)

Yeah NGX12, some very ungrateful sods. I thought your repaint was very good. If people want an exact perfect replica, they should go and find the real a/c and take a photo.

There was a repaint with the developers name under the 1L door. I'm not sure if that was yours NGX12. That name is what is stopping me from using that one. I know the name was small but I know someone would release the same repaint without the name.

I understand someone wanting to take credit for their hard work but it was a deal breaker for me. That was the first time I've ever seen a painter do that.
It is definitely not standard practice.
The best way I think to take credit is include it in the aircraft.cfg file so it shows on the aircraft selection screen when selecting the aircraft to fly.

This is probably my favorite one SWA currently has (I wish they kept the one with Bar Refaeli).

Thanks for the feedback - I must have been having a senior moment. It appears I inadvertently turned off the Winglet layer in the master psd file before creating the dds file.  As for the ailerons/slats, I was going for a nice shiny wing since the real aircraft had just come out of the paint shop. I did this by turning off the weathering layer not realizing the textures for the upper aileron and slats just turned white.

I just uploaded a small fix to AVSIM [southwest Airlines "Penguin One" Boeing 737-700 NG w/Winglets - Texture Fix] to fix these problems – hopefully it will be available shortly.

Thanks again for the input

Dave
