Configured Axis remaining "red"

Featured Replies

I have several control axis in XP10 that remain "red" as if they are not configured properly even though the hardware has been calibrated in Windows and XP10 recognizes it, can anyone tell me why?

One is my PFC Saab Yoke which is a USB device, The pitch and pull throttle Axis work and turn "green" yet the roll axis works but remains "red" and I don't know why?

Same with My GoFlight TQ6 all of the levers seem to work but only a couple turn green in the XP10 Axis assignment screen?

This is not happening to anybody else?

This sometimes happens with me when using Rollons JS32. If I switch to another plane I can then calibrate the yoke and return to the JS32. Not sure if this helps

If you are trying to fly JRollon's JS-32 then read this:

No it occurs with any aircraft, I was already aware of the JS32.  I cant get my some of my axis to go green on even default aircraft.

I'll file a bug report

This also happens to me with my throttles (Throttletec G737).  Both throttle 1 & 2 remain red, but it doesn't seem to effect anything.  They work fine.  I don't know what causes it.  I'll keep checking here to see if someone else does.

It would be helpful if you too filed a bug report, I actually think it's more common than it may seem and just doesn't get reported much because the controllers still work.

Are the controllers plugged into either a primary or powered usb source?  Sometimes the lack of power can cause funny things to happen.

Yes, everything is either plugged directly to the MB or a powered USB port.  I did not skimp on my PSU either 1200watts 80+gold certified modular unit.

I have the same "problem" with  my Saitek X-65, but it works just fine anyway. It's plugged into a MB USB port, so I don't think that's the cause.

I had a similar problem with my PFC yoke. Several axis were red but functional. I don't use the throttle axis since I use a separate throttle setup and because of this I didn't calibrate it. Once I did calibrate the axis all of my axis turned green. Try calibrating all axis even if their not being used and see if that fixes your problem. It didn't matter which plane I had loaded. I hope this helps as it a easy thing to check.
