I am sure that it must be me that is doing something wrong as the BGL file appears in fs/addon scenery/static objectslibrary/scenery but the object does not show when I restart FS. The files show the object as being in the right location. I will sleep on it and try again.

Rino thanks for your reply

Hi Johns,I had the same problem with nothing showing up after generating the scenery and restarting FS9. The answer in my case was that I didn't have the /addon scenery folder enabled in scenery.cfg. Once I enabled it in scenery.cfg, everything worked well. Fantastic actually. ALso, it's important to enable /Static Objects Library in scenery.cfg as it is located in /addon scenery as well.Hope this helps. Good luck.

The program works just fine for me. There are two things that really need to be "fixed" though.1) The longitude display is backwards. It displays -87 24.537 when it should be 87 24.537... :)2) The already mentiond "default" to the "standard FS9" installation, which I'm fairly certain most folks who would be interested in this program don't use for whatever reason... :)My only "disappointment" is that there aren't enough "airport buildings" such as hangers and terminals included.

Thanks Howard I have done as you say and the programme now works great.I am learning slowly with help from such as you.Cheers

There are thousands of library objects compiled within the various BGLS made for a particular geographical location. The problem is if you are not within that particular geographical location, those library objects won't appear even if you know the GUID for the objects. The only way to use these objects, out of the geographical area, is to decompile the subject BGL, then recompile the library objects into a new file placed within your geographical area.My disappointment is GMAX designers not making XML/MDL library objects available like designers did for old style API library objects. I still see uploaders making API library objects from GMAX developed objects. If GMAX designers have objects, all they have to do is export them with the FS2004_GMAX_SDK gamepack and make library objects.I have only seen two large packages, jetways2.zip and fedextks.zip, that have supplied FS2004 compatible library objects.W. I'll agree that the programme has a lot of potential, but after trying for 3 days now and tried all the tips in the forum, I still can't get any objects to show. So I guess it will be "stored" for now, and hopefully I will get it to work sometime.Falcon

>There are thousands of library objects compiled within the>various BGLS made for a particular geographical location. Is there a quick way to explain how to get those to show up in rwy12's object list? Thanks - really liking the idea of this program!Best,sg

>My only "disappointment" is that there aren't enough "airport>buildings" such as hangers and terminals included.Agreed - but it all works just fine. However I do have a question - Has anyone tried using this to add objects to an add-on scenery? What I'm thinking is - I have some airfields that I have compiled using FSSC etc- these are airfields not included in default FS9.I run them as addons from a seperate folder outside FS9 . What is likely to be the effect of adding RW12 objects to these I wonder. It's not that I'm particularly keen to do so - but it's only a matter of time before someone using one of my addon fields downloaded from AVSIM tries this - if it's going to lead to problems I'd like to be forewarned. These are the pathways on my PC.............C:/Prog Files/MSGames/FS9/....D:/fsscenery/(Airfield X- whatever)/scenery (and texture )and so far for RW12D:/fsscenery/RW12addons/sceneryAnyone like to comment before I dive in and try it?Dave

I dont see how it would lead to problems - you're not actually adding to you FSSC project with rwy12, but rather creating a new bgl that would be its own scenery. It would just need to be layered properly to not be excluded by the other scenery in that region...Best,sg

Open the file called ObjLib.xml that is in the Rwy12 folder with Notepad. Read through it and you'll note how it is organized and how each object is written including the guid number. Without this number, you are euchered. I suggest making a backup copy of this file and storing somewhere safe.....a floppy is fine. Minimize Notepad. You can take a screen shot of your additional object and create a small *.jpg file which will be placed in the Rwy12 Img folder.Using Notpad again, open the *.xml file of your additional object and copy the xml text which contains the name, and guid number, etc., into the appropriate spot of the ObjLib.xml file quoted above and 'save'. Your new object should display when you scroll within the appropriate window on the next Rwy12 program use.Note once more that it is essential that you have a guid number before attempting to add an object.Just as a final note, I used this process successfully to add the default ILS checkered shack into Rwy12.

I tried this last night, and had problems installing. I'm obviously being dumb but the readme says I should have four .exe files including: "msxml 5,166 kb (A Microsoft application needed for Rwy12 Object Placer to function)"But in the zipfile this is msxml.msi. When I double click it I get a .txt file full of garbage. However the program starts but when I try and create objects I get a "cannot create bgl" error. I've installed to the C: drive so this shouldn't be the issue.Any help??

There is one, excBuilderV2, using the new XML technology. easy to use too.Hav fun

msxml.msi is an installer, so you should not see text. Try right-clicking and see if an install option is there? Alternately, go to microsofts website and download xml parser 4.0 from there...
