July 27, 201312 yr Well, I am glad FSX users can now feel a bit closer to what X-Plane10 can offer in terms of scenery. Of course they have something we don't yet - seasonal textures - but, I am sure that will come with time. I personally feel released from the burden of having to pay $90+ to get closer to what X-Plane10 offers for free, specially thanks to the work of some users... Let's wait for the populated airfields sent to LR for future integration in the sim default scenery :-) But, honestly, looking at some shots from FTX Global, specially at dusk / night, I prefer the views in my XP10... July 27, 201312 yr Mitch (Sesquashtoo) is kind of hoping for an Orbx addon like this, for X-Plane.....so it must have something special.
July 27, 201312 yr I like FTX GLOBAL but XP10 still wins in Performance, Night Flying, Car/Boat/Train Traffic, etc. 64bit is the future, not 32bit. I like real looking final approaches and xp10 gives me that realism.
July 27, 201312 yr Are there comparison shots of the same area with FTX vs Autogen+OSM? Would be very interesting to see how the world is represented in two different sims. I like FTX GLOBAL but XP10 still wins in Performance, Night Flying, Car/Boat/Train Traffic, etc. 64bit is the future, not 32bit. I like real looking final approaches and xp10 gives me that realism.Completely agree with you, if we only we have FSX addons in XpX this sim would be perfect! July 27, 201312 yr Author Looking at all of this happening to FSX always reminds me of that tale of the "chicken of the golden eggs"... They will squeeze it to get that last golden egg out of it... I'd rather squeeze Austin and LR, and a few 3pds, to get X-Plane10 ( even ) better... the sooner the better :-) Let the TORQUE be with you sisters & brothers !!!! July 27, 201312 yr XPX money well spent use both fsx and XPX, and Xplane the future it may have flaws so does fsx. FSX FTX upgrade of textures just lipstick on a pig It does not solve fsx limitations under the hood. P3d is fine just by the time it really improved Xplane 11 or 12 will do the job anyways.
July 29, 201312 yr I like FTX GLOBAL but XP10 still wins in ........ Night Flying, ........ Do you mean night lighting of cities and urban areas? If so, is this an addon or XPX stock lighting? maybe you mean approach lighting? Thanks, Bruce. ASEL, Instrument. KBJC, Colorado.
July 29, 201312 yr Do you mean night lighting of cities and urban areas? If so, is this an addon or XPX stock lighting? maybe you mean approach lighting? Thanks, Bruce. He means this... And yes, it's default stock lighting:  "Society has become so fake that the truth actually bothers people".
July 29, 201312 yr Well, I am glad FSX users can now feel a bit closer to what X-Plane10 can offer in terms of scenery. It's nice to hear this but what's really inside FTX ? A landclass and textures ? I had something like this in FS2004, when I was using a MyWorld landclass, and Ground Environment by Flight1. What makes their new product different and how can this product be closer to X-Plane add-on sceneries using beautiful textures and OpenStreetMap data ? How is Jarny or Thionville looking with their product ? Georges - OpenStreetMap - Ubuntu GNU/Linux -
July 29, 201312 yr Ftx global is currently just lipstick for the ugly pig. Doesn't even compare to what you can get for free for XPX. Sent from my HTC One using Tapatalk 4 Beta
July 29, 201312 yr The power of marketing... Then I hope they'll not get performance issues like with other Orbx products: http://www.flightsim.com/vbfs/showthread.php?266774-No-more-Orbx-phew!! Georges - OpenStreetMap - Ubuntu GNU/Linux -
July 29, 201312 yr Who needs Orbx and their choppy frame-rates when you can be wilder than that! Why with X-Plane 64bit and OSM you can apparently melt your video card if you fly over London or Paris!
July 29, 201312 yr Commercial Member He means this... And yes, it's default stock lighting:  WOW that is a great video. XP10 on the rise! DeanManager - PC Aviator AustraliaRetailing Sim DVD Software, Downloads, Hardware and Accessories
July 29, 201312 yr Author I can't comment on the quality of FTX Global, but reading the posts at the FSX forums suggests me it must really be good. That's good for the FSX users! For me it is great to know I can have, at least, the same ( well, less the seasonal textures for the time being ) in X-Plane 10. Good enough for me :-) specially when I didn't have to pay more than what I spent in the base package ( X-Plane 10 Global Edition ). Flying gliders since 1980 Flightsimming since 1992 AMD Ryzen 5600x, 32GB RAM, GPU Nvidia RTX 3060 Ti 8 GB, 1 TB and 500 GB nvme2 SSD drives, HP 27" 60Hz LED monitor @ 1920x1080, T16000, Hotas from old X52 Pro, Saitek Combat Rudder Pro (2010 model)

The big lack in xpx is missing addons, true and deeply simulated addons, PMDG first of all and all around addons.
