DreamFleet or PMDG

Featured Replies

Hi all,I am about to purchase a 737. I did some research and have come to these two. Which one is better? From PMDG's website, they claim all the buttons and switchs work in the VC as well; what about the one from DreamFleet? I would like to hear some comments from existing owners of this same aircraft from the two companies. Thnx.

The Dreamfleet 737 will not work in FS2004. It was a FS2000 panel patched for FS2002 and then left to seed.PMDG is miles and miles ahead of the Dreamfleet 737...the Dreamfleet was OK it its day, but that day was like 4 years ago now.RegardsBob ScottATP IMEL Gulfstream II-III-IV-V L-300Washington, DC

Agree 100%. Even if the Dreamfleet 737 worked in FS2004, the PMDG 737 is miles ahead. Go for the PMDG...you will love it.

Hi, the 737 currently available from Dreamfleet is a 737-400 originally designed for FS2000. In FS9, it hardly works (it does, but a lot of compromises are necessary). Dreamfleet WILL publish a 737 for FS9, but there

The pmdg 737ng is nice if you like glass panels and have 70 bucks to spend, if you don't than here is a real nice FREEWARE 737-200 www.tinmouse.org It's still in the works but you can download it free and fly it in its developmental stages, it's pretty much identical to the full motion sim I got my type in, it's an awsome package, undoubtedly the best freeeware package of all time, and puts most payware aircraft to shame.

>If it just had a little more atmosphere!I have to agree. However excellent the technical side of the sim is if the artwork is lacking I feel something big is missing. I really like to sit (or have illusion of sitting) in a cockpit full of expensive aluminium, forged metal and even some exotic plastics. >I beleive that was a personal opinion that hurts no one. Are>we into censoring this sort of opinion? I hope not!If someone says "undoubtedly the best freeware package of all times" it does NOT sound to me like his personal opnion but rather a universal truth. >A bit of common sense should apply in>interpreting such remarks. That's nice and dandy provided that whoever started this thread is not looking for genuine information but rather a sparring match. And ultimately it boils down to what is reasonable and what is not. If someone says that PMDG's 737 is "undoubt..." I would not argue with it but if someone claims that Honda Accord is the best card ever made I would call it what it really is - bloated hyperbole. Hi..I had the DreamFleet 737 and was very satisfied with it.I enjoyed the functional FMC and all the other bell and whistles that went with the package. I have not to date added the PMDG 737 to my FS9 but plan to do so.I like wing views and there is a download file in Flight Sim that will add wing views to this product.I think this will be a great addon for FS9..Thanks..T.H/ CANADA

This looks like a nice developing 737. Thanks for the link.I have never really got into the 737ng, and preferred the Dreamfleet in 2002. ( I am in the minority I think) For some reason it just seemed to look and feel right to me.I do not have any realworld 737 piloting experience I hasten to add, so possibly I mean that in my imagination it felt right. However, to transfer it into 2004 need a bit of work, and I await for the Fs9-or whatever if ever update.Currently I have a hodge podge of a 737 based on basic default with different panels and air files etc.I have lost track of all the add ons it has but for me it works well and looks good, so is my default aircraft.I ma sure with Posky and panel makers and other freeware designers it would be possible to construct a cracking 737.We could all tell what we have made up ourselves from different sources.

Michael J,I, very respectfully, think that you are wrong in this case. The orginial statement need not be construed as bloated hyperbole, because in effect, one man's bloated hyperbole is another man's indisputable truth, ergo, beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and there need be no disclaimer to justify such a statement; pro or con. It costs nothing to download the 737-200 so that the orginal poster could indeed judge for himself, yea or nay.But back on topic...the PMDG 737-NG series is the winner of the 737 contest hands down because:1 - it is the only advanced and completed 737 available for FS9/9.12 - it is a darned good piece of work. However, I do prefer the photoreal immersion that the 737-400 brought to the table and prefer it than the rendered graphics in the PMDG 737-NG (not to take anything away because it is indeed one HELL of an immersive sim!) It is indeed expensive to buy all versions of the aircraft i.e. 600,700,800 & 900, but they sit securely on my hard-drive and I consider myself to be a MSFS snob :-lol. SO dust off that wallet and take her up, you WON'T be disappointed!Regards,Mike T.
