October 29, 200421 yr lt us pray that the upcoming PMDG 747 uses photoreal textures as the rendered textures certainly take away from what is otherwise the best 737 panel IMHO .......PMDG I am offering my services! :-lolregardsEdhttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/94266.jpg My FS Videos
October 29, 200421 yr PMDG all the way! I like to think of myself as PMDG's #1 fan. ;)As stated here already, the Dreamfleet only works in the older sim versions. Dreamfleet is developing a 737-400 and I believe a 200 as well. I will more than likely buy them because Dreamfleet makes some wonderful aircraft, however, their development time is extremely slow. It could be late spring before we see them.I really love the PMDG 737NG and don't care all that much for photorealistic panels. The game is all rendered graphics, so why all the fuss about a background BMP?The PMDG has some features never before coded for MSFS, and is a joy to hand fly. Extensive FMC ops, TCAS II, choice between EFIS/MAP or PFD/ND panels, and much more! - Chris Gigabyte Z790 Aorus Elite AX | Intel Core i9 13900KF | Gigabyte GeForce RTX 4090 24 GB | 64GB DDR5 SDRAM | Corsair H100i Elite 240mm Liquid Cooling | 1TB & 2TB Samsung Gen 4 SSD | 1000 Watt Gold PSU | Windows 11 Pro | Thrustmaster Boeing Yoke | Thrustmaster TCA Captain X Airbus | Asus ROG 38" 4k IPS Monitor (PG38UQ) Asus Maximus VII Hero motherboard | Intel i7 4790k CPU | MSI GTX 970 4 GB video card | Corsair DDR3 2133 32GB SDRAM | Corsair H50 water cooler | Samsung 850 EVO 250GB SSD (2) | EVGA 1000 watt PSU - Retired

October 29, 200421 yr Is it a prerequisite on these forums that for every thread started some self-opinionated, bored individual has to always post a negative or rude reply to an innocent remark? It appears so!Spending less and less time here now due to the unfriendly pointless remarks by people who should know better.AVSIM moderators sort your members out!Adam
October 29, 200421 yr >I am offering my services! :-lol>Ed - The Master of bitmap editing and Paint Shop.I actually wonder, where the word "edit" derives from :-lolWolfgang
October 29, 200421 yr Adam, I think you are a bit too sensitive now. I can't find anything rude in what Ed said.BTW, Ed is right! The panel bitmap of the PMDG NGs is really a bit out of date. The first thing I did after I bought the 600/700s was editing the panel bitmap.Nevertheless I think the PMDG NGs are a great package. I exclusively flew them the past 2 weeks.Wolfgang
October 29, 200421 yr The bad part of he PMDG 737 is that after you buy it, it will probably be the only thing in FS2004 that you fly.
October 29, 200421 yr I will echo many opinions here and say that the PMDG is indeed a good buy because it is first and foremost a darn good piece of work. Secondly, PMDG has excellent customer service. And finally, PMDG is the only developer that I know that actually puts in little things that customers ask for, whereas most other developers give you the line "nothing new will be added", or just simply ignores you.Having said that, I would also state that no one can come close to the bitmaps produced by the guru Lou Betti and that's a FACT. (And before anyone starts slamming me.........this statement is just my opinion :) .......its amazing the petti things people get annoyed for on the forums these days).Although the PMDG panels have improved with the upgrades, it is correct that the cartoonish look takes away from the immersion. It is my opinion that if PMDG could get someone with Lou's talent (maybe Ed? :) ) to do thier panel bitmaps using real photographs, and also devise some sort of means to have the correct perspective on the main panel, this bird will be the best ever for FS since the PIC days. And that's a FACT. (Please don't hit me.....its again my opinion).
October 29, 200421 yr Not bothered about Ed - am referring to the stupid remark by "Gosta".For what its worth I THINK the PMDG 737NG package is excellent.RegardsAdam

Some people really need to think twice before they click on the Post button. Those same people are probably very nice & friendly face to face, but it is like when people get behind the wheel of a car. The anonymity makes them suddenly develop new , not so friendly 'personalities'.
October 29, 200421 yr I don't usually jump in on stuff like this...but I have a different remark. There is a similar thread below on which is the best Bonanza .I find myself biting my tongue as the debate basically goes between two commercial packages-both of which I have tried. I have over 500 hours in a Bonanza-and have a freeware one out which I and a team including reality-xp made; and which in my opinion is way better than either of the commercial packages-and of course is free. It is mentioned-but of course the implication is that if you pay for it, it must be better. I would submit in my opinion ,that is not the case-and I wonder if those that rave about the pay packages have any time in the real plane to base their opinions?I see a post above from a real 737 driver-who I think is implying much same....You can quible about the term "best freeware" but it sounds to me like a genuine positive response from someone who probably knows from flying the real bird....Even though I seldom fly jets-I will be looking at his recomendation-and I thank him for his enthusiastic endorsement.http://mywebpages.comcast.net/geofa/pages/rxp-pilot.jpg Geofa WANTED DEAD OR ALIVE-the best Flight Sim!
October 29, 200421 yr Just remembered..the only negative comment I have about the PMDG aircraft is the lack of a "save situation" facility so if you have to leave the sim for tea, shopping, sleep etc you can shut down and come back to it next day. This facility as far as I can see has not been included and is bl**dy annoying!;)Adam
October 29, 200421 yr >The pmdg 737ng is nice if you like glass panels and have 70>bucks to spend, if you don't than here is a real nice FREEWARE>737-200 www.tinmouse.org >>It's still in the works but you can download it free and fly>it in its developmental stages, it's pretty much identical to>the full motion sim I got my type in, it's an awsome package,>undoubtedly the best freeeware package of all time, and puts>most payware aircraft to shame.Sounds like it is still in the Beta stage, by reading the info on the web site.

This facility as far>as I can see has not been included and is bl**dy annoying!;)Why would you ever want to do that? Not nice leaving your passengers hanging in the air while you relax :-)
October 29, 200421 yr LOL Well even on "real" 737NG simulators you can save the current situation and return to it the next day. So PMDG should offer this in future releases IMHO!CheersAdam(Proud Supporter of nothing in particular)
