August 10, 201312 yr I've just stumbled upon this INCREDIBLE new website! It basically acts like what PFPX will do when that's eventually released, in that it creates dispatch documents based on recent AIRAC Cycles (with you having to unlock the recent releases using your Navigraph access codes. Once you've put in the basic information, it spits out a great looking dispatch sheet which is then exportable to many format. It's still under construction, but it looks great and is a nice little free step up until we get PFPX. Let me know what you think! Calum Martin
August 10, 201312 yr Here's the link. www.simbrief.com Seems like they are stressing the freeware status, which is nice. Looks interesting. Thanks for the tip. :-) / sent from a mobile thingy /
August 26, 201312 yr Seems like they are stressing the freeware status, which is nice. Looks interesting. Thanks for the tip. :-) A great service and it is free. However, posted in the interest of full disclosure, if you want to have an AIRAC database that is not 18 months or so out of date, you need to subscribe to Navigraph, which is not free.
August 26, 201312 yr I've used it for about 20 flights now and with topcat it's pretty spot on even with winds and fuel usage love it. I will buy PFPX though lol. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD http://fs2crew.com/banners/Banner_FS2Crew_MJC_Supporter.png Wayne HART

Indeed and like many I'm a bit cheesed off as I'm already a NavDataPro subscriber. The latter has allegedly the most complete library of procedures, and has a great installer which saves having to d/l loads of different ZIP files. So having to subscribe to Navigraph just to keep Simbrief up to date is just not cricket. Could they not also have a partnership with Aerosoft?
August 26, 201312 yr Yes, I only heard of this after Mosteen mentioned it..... and now, I am using it to plan every flight.
August 26, 201312 yr if you want to have an AIRAC database that is not 18 months or so out of date, you need to subscribe to Navigraph, which is not free.I bought NavData Pro by Aerosoft about 1/2 way into my 13 month cycle with Navigraph and have since repurchased the 13 cycle navigraph data lol, just doing my part to support the community. But seriously, it would be nice if Simbrief supported both platforms. \Robert Hamlich/
August 26, 201312 yr Hang on just had a thought; if you use your own routing (e.g. Routefinder, VatRoute), surely you don't need the latest Airac on Simbrief?
August 26, 201312 yr Hang on just had a thought; if you use your own routing (e.g. Routefinder, VatRoute), surely you don't need the latest Airac on Simbrief? Scratch that, you do need it as it checks your waypoints against the AIRAC.
August 27, 201312 yr Air Canada virtual uses it for the dispatch documents Derek Mayer is one of the principals of Virtual Air Canada and he is the creator of SimBrief, that's where it all started. \Robert Hamlich/
