Today I was looking through the Captains set of 777 flight manuals and noticed that the 777 was being reffered to as the 777NG a lot. Is this a mistake from copying from the NGX or deliberate

I believe it's a reference to the new 777 Xs.  Kinda like how the 787 was originally the 7E7.

Weren't the 300ER and 200LR called "NG" by Boeing for a while?

Those manuals are word for word what Boeing gave us - if there's any "777NG" in there, it didn't come from us.
