August 17, 201312 yr I vote for this as one of the most negative topics ever. Won't have all the stuff we don't need or want....oh dear how will we get by.
August 17, 201312 yr For all you new posters out there who want to find some information about the PMDG 777X Base package! -It will not have an EFB -It will not have a 2D Cockpit- -It will not have a Weather radar ( WX Radar) -It will not have a taxi cam -It will have RAAS included. Hopefully this will clear a lot of stuff up, and answer the many questions that are asked daily on these forums. Note to the Moderators and PMDG Staff: This thread is not intended to be mean, or angry hate to those who post these repeating questions. It is merely a thread which explains the FAQs. If this was the wrong thing to do, please lock/Delete this thread and notify me! I apologize in advance if it was the wrong thing to do, I intended to be helpful is all. Does anyone know of the reason as to why there will be no taxi camera? Matthew Bellette
August 17, 201312 yr Does anyone know of the reason as to why there will be no taxi camera? Because the real 200LR doesn't have it, its only on the 300ER. Alex Jevdic KORD/KHOT/KPWKA<380 love at first flight
August 17, 201312 yr Because the real 200LR doesn't have it, its only on the 300ER. Oh, okay then. Well, at least it seems there's no technical impediment that would stop PMDG from including it in the 300ER version. Matthew Bellette
August 17, 201312 yr Ok I try to follow most topics on the T7 and i am 100% sorry if this was answered before or mentioned by RSR / Ryan / or a member of the BETA Team but..... How much room will be required for the installation? My SSD is getting pretty full. Stephen Asus Z170 Deluxe, 32 GB DDR4 Dominator Platinum, i7 6700k mild overclock, GTX Titan ( Pascal ) Win10
August 18, 201312 yr Does anyone know of the reason as to why there will be no taxi camera? The same reason there won't be Rocket engines, International Space Station Docking ports and ejection seats. How much room will be required for the installation? My SSD is getting pretty full. if your SSD is full to the point you can even add an aircraft anymore then you need more SSDs.You can fill up an SSD more than a mechanical HDD (HDD max 65%), but you should not completely fill up an SSD either. Max 90% fill for SSD The PMDG folder on my PC, with only the 737NGX inside, is 1.54GB. I imagine the 777 will be about the same. Rob Robson

August 18, 201312 yr That is how I understand it yes. I am no harware specialislt, but the guy that passed that on is (another forum). The reason is that you want FSX to have fast acces to your data. Otherwise you can end up with stutters. The more you fill up a mechanical HDD, the further away from the center that data is written on the discs, and the longer it takes for the pickup mechanism to get to that data. This results in slower latency. If your HDD is only used for backup or media content then it does not matter. But if this is a performance harddisc for FSX, then yes. SSD does not have this problem because it does not have a mechanical pickup system. Rob Robson
August 18, 201312 yr that is very, very, very very simplistic way. It works, but it is like kind of saying "Always load your NGX in Ready to Taxi state". It will work, and is much less complex to explain than 'How to go from C&D to Taxi in less then 10 minutes", but is not really the thing you want to do. --Peter Fabian
