Many FSX "Undefined" Properties in NVIDIA Inspector 1.9.7.2

Featured Replies

I have about a dozen entries in my FSX profile for NVIDIA Inspector 1.9.7.2

The titles are all in Hex -- like this > 0x00000040, and the Settings Values are a mixture of hex, numeric, and words.  Are these supposed to be there, and if not, how do I get rid of them?

Thanks.

Don't mess with these entries, no need just leave em.

So I'm reading into your answer that they are supposed to be there?  I was contemplating uninstalling/reinstalling  1.9.7.2 to clean up those entries (because if I recall correctly it seems the number of entries grew with each upgraded version.  But if they are supposed to be there, I'll just leave them alone.

Yes, in the new AVSIM FSX Configuration Guide - http://forum.avsim.net/page/index.html/_/pri-news/the-avsim-fsx-p3d-configuration-guide-r1791.

You can't get better than Nicks nvidia inspector setup guide, he changed my fsx life forever. Amazing what I was missing out on. Thanks again Nick!

I don't get why Nick doesn't like sparse grid super sampling. It makes no sense. It gives far superior visual quality to a small performance hit that you should want to accept for the better benefits.

Best regards,

This guide has nothing to do with NVIDIA Inspector settings. It is for FSX settings only. I would also like to find the proper NVIDIA settings for V1.9.7.2. I have a high end computer an I cannot seem to set Anti Alias properly.

I suspect you did not read the section on display settings.  I have a very, very high end system and I use those settings in the guide (except now I have turned off FXAA as I like crisp, flickering textures for my photoscenery).  FYI, setting AA in FSX properly is very difficult.  There is no perfect setting.

And to add to what Jim said, there is more of a difference in settings if you use FSX with DX10 preview on.  Best to read through the guides to get better insight into settings FSX & NI up for good results.

I had the same problem when I first installed 1.9.7.2. I was missing a file called CustomSettingsNames_en-EN.xml which defines English text strings for many of the Hex labelled entries that show up in Inspector.

I just used the settings found here: http://airdailyx.blogspot.com/2013/04/nvidia-inspector-settings.html. It's for Nvdia Inspector 1.9.6.8, but its close. The newsest version has some settings this example does not but I just skipped those settings. The verbage is also slightly different, so I went by the HEX values to idenitfy what I needed to change. Everying looks good now.

Thanks for info Robert. I don't use DX10, never do. I have read every guide on the topic in the and have had evything setup properly already, it's just that I built a new Intel with watercooled I7 Haswell and reinstalling eveything and setting up from scratch took me about 2 weeks to get right! Amazing how nice eveything look swith settings maxed out. The GeForce 750 card is nice but I had to use the Inspector to get Anti Alias fine tuned.

Sorry if the link is not acceptable, you can remove it if need be, but it was the only one I could find without spending another 3 hours searching net.  Thanks all, Larry

Excellent! Great 2nd post, Larry!

I reckon that you oughta sit right down and write a "How-To" set up NI for the rest of the folks who have also already read all of the guides, and are still having issues!

It's amazing indeed! I just have to ask, though, as I'm wondering what can be wrong with my 5.0-gig rig, with a 780, that I cannot get your "settings maxed out" when you claim to easily do this with what is, in fact a low-end 750 driving the graphics.. ???  Please - we need the secret!

All the Best,
