Over in the FSX thread they've been discussing "The Importance of MUSIC in the Sim", and I got to thinking... does the airplane you're flying influence the type of music you listen to in the Sim?

For example some listen to 40's music, including SInatra and the like, when they're flying Classic airplanes like the DC-3. Others listen to 60's and 70's Rock, some (like myself) like Jazz or Blues.

Anyone listen to Heavy Metal when you're flying your Superbug or Warthog? Or maybe some Easy Listening whilst piloting your Bo' into LAX on a clear, starry night?

I was just wondering if any of you use the airplane or flight to influence your musical choices; or perhaps your mood might dictate your listening pleasure... just curious.

Best smiley ever!

Now what am I supposed to hear when flying a modern GA bird like the Katana? Dubsteb or what?

I pretty much listen to what I have on my computer if I do decide to listen to music, which is mostly Paramore along with other forms of rock. Although it's usually on a longer flight that I would be doing that.

Live streams of my flights here.

Sometimes I listen to period specific music for the aircraft.  I remember Bill Lyons old biplanes having great old 20s sound clips which really added to the enjoyment of the plane.

I also might listen to a particular type of music depending on where I am flying.  If I am flying over Ireland, I might listen to some irish music or sea shanties.  If I am over central Europe, I might have some appropriate classical playing.  If I am flying in Japan I might have some Japanese folk music going.  If I am in the Caribbean, I might have some Reggae playing.   Otherwise my 'default' music types are the Blues, Funk, Soul, Classic Rock...etc.

Cheers
