September 15, 201312 yr There might be a way but the best thing thing to do is to download and install the gfwl version, since there are differences in the files between the two. At least you wont have to download the DLC again though.
September 15, 201312 yr I've not run Flight for weeks (if not months) though when I just tried to run it using its desktop short-cut which references a steam URL, the steam client starts up and drops me into a forum stating that Flight has been dropped from steam and nothing else happens. Now I also am a registered GFWL Flight owner, but do not have flight installed where my GFWL login can find it (though it still sits in the steamapps folder). Does any know a way of simply moving the Flight steamapps folder to a location which the GFWL client can find it and link it in? BTW, steam will do this just fine by dropping a game folder into steamapps; I'm hoping that GFWL can do the same. Obviously I can simply download (again) though GFWL but my internet speed leaves much to be desired (i.e. it sucks). Thanks for reading. Don't use the Steam link, go to the actual install path and run it from there.
September 15, 201312 yr Don't use the Steam link, go to the actual install path and run it from there. I already tried directly running the .exe in the install path. It behaved in the same manner as described in my first post, which was quite suprising. Seems that steam_api.dll, found in the install path, is the culprit here and there is no hack to get around it so I'll spend the time running a fresh download. BTW this is what Steam/GFWL recommends anyways, if one bothers to read their notices. Thanks to all for replying. September 17, 201312 yr I missed out on the closing of the MS PC marketplace, and unfortunately I wanted to grab the Maule and Carbon Cub during a future sale. Looks like the Maule is actually still available through the in-game GFWL interface, but I'm reluctant to feed it credit card details to try to buy points. Wondering if anyone with points still "available" has been able to get any DLC since the marketplace closed...?

I think that all Microsoft Points have expired and cannot be used anymore, which is why they urged users to spend them before the Marketplace closed down.
September 17, 201312 yr I think that all Microsoft Points have expired and cannot be used anymore, which is why they urged users to spend them before the Marketplace closed down. Yeah, I know that's the official word, and I'm sure the Maule and P51 still showing up in the "marketplace" section within the game is just a mistake or oversight. It will even let you get as far as entering credit card info to buy points. I read another post that seemed to imply that people who had points are still seeing those points in GFWL, but I could be inferring that incorrectly. It would probably not actually allow the credit card transaction. But I'm just curious.
