August 28, 201312 yr Does PFPX calculate derated thrust options on takeoff for different aircraft? Or do we still need TOPCAT for this? This is a job for TOPCAT. Kristian Nørregaard737, 777 and 787
August 28, 201312 yr You export the data from PFPX into TOPCAT Ash KeelsonLIAN LI DK-02 Desk/Intel Core i7 6700K Skylake 4.0 ghz/ H110i Liquid Cooler/ ASUS Extreme VIII/ EVGA GTX 1080 8GB/ 32GB G.Skills DDR4 RAM/ Intel SSD 1TB/Samsung 1TB/ Crucial 150GB/Windows 10/Prepar3D v3.3
August 28, 201312 yr I prefer to use exactly whats being used in the real world, could never care much for FS flight planning programs, since 90% of routes in north america are available on flightaware. Anyways... Can I tell PFPX what route I want to use, and have it generate the rest of the IFR dispatch release based from that? And for our Europe FLights? We don't have FlightAware José Fco. August 28, 201312 yr You export the data from PFPX into TOPCAT My understanding reading the manual was that PFPX actually pulls the information from TOPCAT and that there is no need to "export" anything. The two programs are fully integrated, so long as you have a TOPCAT license. Is that not the case? What does Flight Aware have to do with it? Just open up a chart and add your waypoints, airways, and fixes. http://skyvector.com/ Ahhhhh, the Ctrl-E approach to flight planning.
August 28, 201312 yr i tried it and it did not recognize my A/C a 737-900WL I'll try again could be wrong Ash KeelsonLIAN LI DK-02 Desk/Intel Core i7 6700K Skylake 4.0 ghz/ H110i Liquid Cooler/ ASUS Extreme VIII/ EVGA GTX 1080 8GB/ 32GB G.Skills DDR4 RAM/ Intel SSD 1TB/Samsung 1TB/ Crucial 150GB/Windows 10/Prepar3D v3.3

August 28, 201312 yr Is that not the case? I believe it is. Although it didn't seem to work when I tried. Jordan Forrest

August 28, 201312 yr The generated output of PFPX is almost identical to the generated output of SimBrief. SimBrief is free. http://www.simbrief.com/home/?page=home Phil Stephens i7 9700 3.00GHz | 16GB DDR4 | NVIDEA GTX1600 Ti 6GB | Win 10 x64
August 28, 201312 yr Sorry but not even close. PFPX is the best Flight Planning tool by far. I have created an entire route using real world data, customizing, and it worked perfectly. I think only FSBuild would allow me to do that. Alexis Mefano
August 28, 201312 yr What does that mean? It was tongue in cheek, really. People keep questioning the need for PFPX, saying that we can easily pull a route string off of Flightaware to "plan" a flight. That's a bit like saying that you can start the engines by pressing Ctrl-E, so why bother with memorizing a bunch of flows? To each their own, but this program is the creme de la creme for real-as-it-gets FSX flight planning.

What do you think, does my flight school own flight planning software, and do all dispatch for me? No, I just open skyvector, build route on my own, from waypoint to waypoint, confirm that with paper chart; build my own nav log, calculate performance, weight and balance, file a flight plan and send it via email, and then I get route confirm as reply. Does this makes me a bad pilot? Don't get me wrong, PFPX is great software, I'm probably gonna buy it, but there is nothing wrong, nor unrealistic with manual flight planning (like CTRL + E ) Lj.
