I knew beforehand I would get such a reply from you

haha - points for predictability?

For the developer for PFPX it doesn't matter if the outcome of a route is wrong or it cost a lot more then needed to name a few points. I can think that in the real world mistakes of the application will count in several calls from the airliner or even fines. I don't know because I don't work in that world but I could just inmagine it works the same way as in the world I work in.

Depends on the agreement between the provider and the airline.

What I do know though is that the price for software for private use is completely different then software used by companies even it is the same software.

True.  The point remains, though, that people are getting a steal compared to the real world equivalent.

Well I wouldn't give up FSBUILD yet.  I'm getting some really strange quick routes generated by PFPX.

KBNA CHADM1 SWAPP J42 BNA DCT MEI RYTHM3 KMSY  This is departing rwy 31 from KBNA.   Generate it out and you'll see a 70 miles northeast track then backtrack over KBNA to enroute.

FSBUILD though gave me an auto generated route from the same departure runway:

KBNA DRURY1.HAGIE IGB MEI RYTHM3 KMSY

While the actual flightaware route flown:

KBNA DRURY1 JALAR MEI RYTHM3 KMSY

I think it needs some work on the quick routes.  Now to be fair some of the other quick routes I've generated seemed ok but this one... WOW.

Let's not forget that this is day 1 for PFPX, I'm sure things will be straightened out and improved in the future.

I prefer to use exactly whats being used in the real world, could never care much for FS flight planning programs, since 90% of routes in north america are available on flightaware.   Anyways... Can I tell PFPX what route I want to use, and have it generate the rest of the IFR dispatch release based from that?

Thanks, Kyle for that message... :)

Is there an AIRAC cycle for PFPX yet, or? (wasn't included in Navigraph 1308 as far as I can tell)

EDIT: It's included in NavDataPro I can see...

I can't believe people think this is too pricey. Then again, that's what vroute is for--the pinchers among us. :)

This program is superior to any flight planning software out there...... Just give it an hour and people will say it is to complicated to use without reading the manual, and forget auto generating routes build your own it is way more fun to do. I just wish TOPCAT had a 777 profile to use for the impending release!

Ill be holding off on this till next week . I made a deal with the wife : she gets a purse per every FS addon I get so ill get the 777 first ... ;-)...

Image removed as image is no longer available.

Does PFPX calculate derated thrust options on takeoff for different aircraft? Or do we still need TOPCAT for this?
