August 31, 201312 yr Having been waiting two years for a PMDG-esque Airbus, I decided I could wait no longer for FSLabs, and recently took the plunge with the Airbus X Extended to tide me over until (IF!) it's released. Here are some shots from my first ever Airbus flight, following the tutorial from EDDF/Frankfurt to LOWW/Vienna. Thanks for looking
August 31, 201312 yr Lovely shots, Airbus X is an enjoyable Airbus in my opinion. Does the job until/if the FSLabs comes out.
August 31, 201312 yr Author Lovely shots, Airbus X is an enjoyable Airbus in my opinion. Does the job until/if the FSLabs comes out. Couldn't agree more. Reading some of the threads on here, you'd think it was horrendous and that you'd be lucky to keep it in the sky. In the event - despite not being a massively "technical" flier, I managed to complete the tutorial flight without incident! The only thing I noticed was that during descent the AP seemed to ignore some of the altitude constraints, but I expect I did something incorrectly!
September 1, 201312 yr Author Is it PMDG esque? The way I understand it is that it's nowhere near as detailed in the systems modelling (no failures etc) but of does pretty much everything I want it to. I'd say I'm a mid-depth user. I like to program an FMC etc rather than just fly by hand and follow built in ATC but I have no interest in simulating engine fires etc. The VC quality is very important to me and it's not up there with the NGX but it's not too shabby either. I would get the FSL version as and when it comes out as I'm sure it will be superior given the amount of development but this will fill the gap nicely until then and let me get familiar with doing things Airbus style!
September 1, 201312 yr Author Thanks! This is FTX Global for the ground, REX for the clouds and sky and SweetFX. Plus FlyTampa Vienna.
