MASTER CAUTION does not reset

Featured Replies

Hi All,

I'm not sure that this problem has been discussed or not (I'm a bit lost in this initial storm of posts) so I'm sorry if I duplicate something:

Yesterday, during descend I've disconnected the A/T.The caution msg and the master caution light came on per the normal operation. After the second push of the A/T disconnect button, the msg cancelled but the master caution light stayed on whatever I did. I pushed the light-switch several times trying to reset, reengaged the A/T, etc. There was no caution message on the EICAS but the light stayed on.

Anybody with the same experience? Possible solution ?

Cheers,

I am not sure whether this is same behaviour, but I was not coming from Cold&Dark.

Sitting at SCEL preparing ACA93 back to CYYZ everything was fine, but after starting the engines I cannot get it out after pushing CAUTION. No errors visible...

Flying now on FL340 on UL780 heading for SULNA at 2351z it is still on.

My saved panel state.

I fly, store when I go to bed, and restart from there.

Consequently: Something after Shutdown checklist.

What one did you originally start from? Did you start from the default state with engines running and shut down from there, or did you load the long or short turn state?

I have had this occur after starting #1 engine (#2 already started with no caution), right when I flipped the fuel cut-off to on. This was from a starting panel state of cold and dark.

That's a known issue with the cold/dark state. (http://forum.avsim.net/topic/418750-pmdg-777-issue-tracking-thread/) Oddly I have this problem in other panel states as well.

Use a cockpit state that is NOT cold and dark. If you are clear of the problem, shutdown the aircraft and save it as the new cold and dark state. There will be no further problems.

The issue is if you use the cold and dark state as installed - something is wrong with it.

Best regards,

Robin.

The weird thing is, I have never used any of PMDG's panel states (except the default the first time I loaded it) with the 777 and I still have the problem sometimes.

Hmm - interesting. To the best of my knowledge I have never used the cold and dark state, and I created my current start up state before I was aware there was a problem (I got the product within an hour of release).

I tend to fly the freighters though, not the pax. Maybe there is a difference?

If you PM me your e-mail address, I'll send you my start-up config (based on the freighter, but seemns to work on the passenger model, too). Not had any problems with it so far! B)

Best regards,

Robin.

Since the occurrence on my sim, I have been using the Long Turn panel state which I have since found out is more common in the RW it seems ( thanks for your answer by the way in that thread 1-2-3). No occurrences in the last 5 start ups.

Sending PM, worth a shot. It's been happening on nearly every flight the last couple days.
