Hi all,

I'm using SweetFX at the moment, and have used ENB in the past.  I have no comments about the two as to me they have different areas to shine.  However, I am quite interested in who uses what?  And your reasons behind it (if you have one).

Even better if you want to post some of your effect configurations as eye candy :)

Sorry if this was already posted before, if I missed it, please link me.

Cheers!

Learning to use and getting use to FSX!

Neither.

Until 3 days ago I was using sweetfx, but I finally got too tired of not being able to use undocked windows. Any time I undocked a window with sweetfx the frame rate would drop to below 1.0.

So, I fiddled with my AA settings to make some compromises to get the right amount of sharpness, and installed 'gapa' to allow me to switch to a sweetfx-like gamma profile.

For years I did not use either... until I found Gabriel's ENB and sky textures combo 3 months ago. Even after only using it for a week, I found I couldn't go without ENB, so it's now got a permanent home in my FSX root folder

I used none for a long time, then incidently came across ENB and used it, but it used to crash FSX on my system, so I quit using it. A few months ago, I read somewhere that these crashes seem to possibly be related to the ENB settings rather than ENB itself, and at the same time I found John Venema's settings so good-looking that I thought I'd give it another try, and voilà -  no crashes so far.

None, have yet to see any before and after pics that impresses me. Plus if outside looks nice in a pic when ini is set well, usually the VC is totally wrong or bad looking.

Yea I really really superbly like the grayish/high impact look.  Except I'm terrible at getting it right (or really know what to do to get it to look like that).  One of the best I found was Kostas' settings.  Does anyone know where I can find a collection of setting files or configs that other simmers publish?  Like where was JV's setting files and the effects?

None. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

SweetFX solely, because ENB doesn't work with DX10.

If I disable SweetFX, I can instantly see a bright whitish 'veil' covering my screen, so I really like SweetFX. It makes FSX much more beautiful, with 'deeper' colors on my pc.

You know what Linux users usually say? If it ain't broken, tweak until it is!

Are you talking about ENB or SweetFX?

In case it's ENB, you can go to the REX or ORBX forums, they both got some nice looking stuff.  You'll probably need to be logged in there to have access to the files, though.

Yea thanks for that.  I saw this one, I thought he had a more "stormy" one?

Regarding Kostas' settings its for SweetFX, and I personally love it.  Only can't find the settings for it :(

Nick suggests None.

FPS suffers with Fx.

So None.

I've been an ENB guy for some years now. SweetFX seems good, but I don't know how to use it... and I don't know if it can reproduce the bloom effect that ENB does.

Nowadays I can't fly without ENB. The difference here is... well, big. I can post some "before / after" screenshots, if someone is interested.
