Guys let me follow up here, we are still moving forward.  I became frustrated at a few things (sorry not going to elaborate), but since then I have reviewed my options and no matter what direction we decide to take we will be successful.

My outburst was very unprofessional and I apologize for creating this stink......

But remember: X-Plane is a flight simulator and not so much a ship simulator

I understand the sentiment, but if you take that to its logical conclusion then why the moving vehicles? (cars, trucks, trains) What do they have to do with flight? What about balloons and animals? Why would seasonal textures matter, and why would there be such a thriving market for addons not directly related to flight in FSX?

I think the real name of the game is immersion, and being a dreamer, my mind explodes with dozens of possibilities when I see Skymaxx/Silverlining and triton. Landing your copter on the heaving deck of a ship in heavy seas? Flying over the ocean in a violent storm to look down and see turbulent waves that make you glad you are in the air (and hope fervently to stay there)

Finally having realistic sun reflections on water? (Xplane default is awful)

Seaplane landings in varying weather and ocean conditions?

Carrier landings?

If there was a damage model you could even try your hand at being Chesley Sullenberger (Can you land your tubeliner safely in tha' water?"

Driving a boat as a change of pace?

Realistic wakes as your Copter hovers over tha' water?

I could go on and on. Possibilities and Immersion!  ^_^

Ok, ok, you are right ... (because, what else am I doing when trying to perfection the landscape). Otherwise we could go back to FS2.0 on the C64 (its visuals were a bit more minimalistic ... but I loved it at that time). The only difference between you and me is, that you might only see the vision ... but we/I also see (at least sometimes  ) what they imply technically etc. ...

And John (to come back on topic) ... I hope you can go on with this impressive project (and be a little bit more careful with the elderly or medically not 100% stable users around here  )!

 ... but there is definitely some truth to what John tells ... thats indeed what happens if you deal with the innards of scenery for so many years  ... kind of.

But for visual people like me your efforts are the real magic!  Turning 1's and 0's into mountains and streams is nothing short of astonishing ;)

It similar to my admiration towards many musicians ......

Really happy to wake up in my hungover stupour and see that whatever you needed to work out was worked out John. As you (and Sundog?) can hopefully see now there is a lot of community expectation riding on your product.

As someone that regularly has to bite his tongue I understand your feelings but have to say your communication strategy needs honing. You're probably going to achieve some commercial success with Skymaxx which also increases the potential to bump heads with people but for all our sakes please try and avoid doing this publicly. It's difficult to take back calling business partners liars and manipulators online and doesn't do anything for the faith potential customers have in you as a stable hand on the tiller of a project we're looking to spend money on.

Now go and get this puppy ready for release!

Yeah I am well aware of how ridiculous this all looks.........But hey every situation is an opportunity to learn and grow......

As someone who's eaten more humble pie than a fat bloke with a big penchant for both pie and self-flagellation, I hear you! You know what would really put this whole episode to bed?

Come closer, I'll whisper it in your ear...

I'll be doing my Doolitle Raiders scenario. WWII, with the new B-25 that's coming one of these days. I can see it now; the water spray over the deck, from the force of facing into the wind, while the ships bow rises and falls with the waves.

This software is certainly highly anticipated. If you've had a look at Sundog's Silverlining sky environment, X-Plane is among the featured users. I believe we're already using this to a certain degree. SkyMAXX would bring it to the next level. What I'd like to see is the integration of Triton to the sim as a logical next step.

The next one is simply amazing. Although I'm not certain it's Sundog's Triton at work here.

By the way, we do need the teenagers, they are the future and some of them are brilliant. So looking forward to the relationship with Sundog Studios and SkyMAXX.

I am glad that things are hopefully back on track.  Very much looking forward to the product, as well as the products that follow.

Well!

Suddenly all the busy bees buzzing in happy anticipation has been replaced by the occasional lonely cricket chirp.......!

Anything new happening? :-)
