I could, actually.

If anyone wants to help, I'd greatly appreciate people taking climb runs, cruise runs and descent runs at different weights.

Here's what I need:

...

Kyle... I  MIGHT have 1-2 hours today - still need some climb/descent runs done?

Guys, remember that PFPX was NOT made for FSX, specifically.  It's a fuel planner that calculates based on real world data.  If the aircraft developer then uses real world data in creating its aircraf

Yep!  Any help would speed the process up a lot.  It's a lot of work.

That'll work! Thanks!

I had lost this topic and couldn't find it!  Happy to see you're still working on that profile!

Yep, me too. Haven't forgot about this, but i've very little flying time lately, so I've pushing this back. Will try to get ariund to it this thursday though...

Ok, trying again this week, I'll be starting with lower weights at low temp, seeing as Ethan is starting from heavy...

I will create a spreadsheet on google, so anyone interested can you just punch in their numbers. That way we will have an up-to-date document allways... Posting a link later today...

I've posted the link on pfpx's forum as well, hoping to get a fast filling...

@Kyle - let me know if the spreadsheat, and how the data is put in, is usable, e.g. total fuel burn, or burn pr. block altitude?

Looks like it's nicely formatted.  We'll see what it looks like when people add data in.

I'm just setting up to do a testrun on 15000 lbs @ 100% condition, so if have the time, feel free to do a run on another weight or at 98% condition... We simply just need som data - see the spreadsheet i've linked to.

Thx for anything ;)

Ok, got the first run in, 15000 lbs @ ISA dev= -10 (thats a rocketship by the way).

A few tips:

1. If possible, select an airport at the coast, and with a DME station. This way you can climb and descent unrestricted, and you can use the DME to track your distance from the cockpit, rather than going through the flight review, which is rather un precise and hard to work with (I use EKYT and fly west over the north sea). When you reach maximum altitude, turn around and head straight back towards the DME. Top off the fuel, if you need to get the correct weight again. Same goes with timing - use your wristwatch or something other to time each altitude - more precise, and you can fill in the data "on the fly" so to speak ;)

2. Use this website to calculate the temps at each altitude according to the ISA dev your flying

http://stevegriffinenterprises.com/isa-calculator.html

I had to use Active sky to set the temp at each altitude, as I couldn't figure out how to do this with FSX weather options. But it's rather quick to do.

Once your setup, it's rather quick to get up and down. Remeber to have EGT at the lower white hashmarks, as Kyle describes.

Let's get this profile done!

Great explanation.  Thanks for adding that!

Just a heads up - got a few more runs in @ 15000 lbs and 100% condition. I've taken two screenshots - one on climb and one on descent, just to explain how this is done easiest. A climb and descent run is done in less than 1 hour, so we need but a few good men to get this done quickly.

I've saved a flight, where I have the A/C setup with engines runnnig and fully configured for take off. All I need to do, is to reset the fuel used, start timing on my wristwatch, and take off. At each altitude, I pause the sim, and I take note of the time elapsed, the fuel burn, and the distance travelled. When I start of from EKYT, I'm 4nm from the VOR, so I simply subtract 4 nm from the DME readout.

When reaching FL260, I turn around, top off the fuel, reset my timer, and I'm ready to do the descent. When I descent I use the ODN VOR, and I start descent about 140 nm out, and simply subtract the DME reading from 140, to get the distance I've travelled in total.
