October 29, 201312 yr These are great news! Good to read, that ORBX will offer continuous support for DX10, which will be most usefull for DX10-FSX-users and DX11, which will mainly be for P3D,2.0 then. Really very much appreciated! Cheers, Christoph Enjoy flying and happy landings.
November 5, 201312 yr I don't want to bomb the ORBX forums with any more of this type of query ... so I thought I'd post here. Please let me know if this requires [another] new topic. I think that since installing the FTX Iceland demo/freebie (without FTXG) I've lost all my street lighting. I've tried FTX Central "Vector Road Lights" on and off, and the Fixer "Ignore ORBX Streetlights" on and off (and all the combinations). My Fixer slider is set full to the left (scenery) and DX10 compatible lights are set to ON. My FTX Central is in a pseudo Global/Hybrid mode - where "FSX Default" has been replaced by "FTX Global" since I don't have FTXG. Other than that, DX10 Fixer continues to do its job marvellously! Any ideas, anyone? Adam.
November 5, 201312 yr Commercial Member I would try uninstalling the libraries from DX10SF and see what happens My FSX Analysis Blog
November 5, 201312 yr I would try uninstalling the libraries from DX10SF and see what happensThanks, Steve - do you mean by re-installing the stock shaders? I downloaded them a while back just in case.
November 5, 201312 yr UPDATE! All fixed now! I replaced the stock shaders and re-installed the DX10SF libraries and all is back to normal. Except that it *isn't* "normal". My streetlights used to flicker as I panned around (or manouevred) ... they now stay on all the time :-) ... so I'm a happy camper. Either the reinstall fixed the flickering, or the new build has done something clever. Many thanks, Adam.
December 6, 201312 yr Sry guys could you elaborate on this fix? I have the issue with night lighting in ORBX areas as well, am running the DX10 fixer. So what files do I uninstall/install/whatever?
December 6, 201312 yr Commercial Member I am sorry but I must confess that I don't have a clue! Dx10sf should fix ftx global lights. What issue do you have with ftx lights, do you have effects. Aka dx10 compatible lights turned on or off? My FSX Analysis Blog
December 7, 201312 yr I have this problem with FTX EU / AU and DX10SF too. Only just realised that it could be DX10SF related, I am going to try returning shaders back to default, then like Adam did reapply fixes, will update if I can identify whats happening. Hope I can find a shader backup somewhere!Stevejp if it is any help if you slew around you notice no street lights on at all when DX10SF is enabled, but every know and then they will appear for a fraction of a second. December 7, 201312 yr Commercial Member As I say I am very confused. In dx10 effect based lights which include all orbx and utx street lights except orbx ftx global have issues with visibility angles, and are also tied to aircraft lights. The effects fix (now appears as dx10 compatible lights) addresses this. My FSX Analysis Blog
December 7, 201312 yr I'll check this again tonight - but I already played around with things and didn't notice any improvement. Is there any files I can check for correctness - e.g. any shader files or whatever where I can look at file sizes to make sure I'm using the correct ones? (or whatever other things I could verify?)
December 7, 201312 yr Its working now after uninstall and reinstall. Although I still dont seem to have lighting along roads (just lights dotted around neighbourhoods). Might use UTX street lights together with FTX street lights. Doesnt seem to impact performance too much. Once again Steve I know you've heard it before but thanks for essentially making DX10 a reality, on a 760GTX it really makes a world of difference running in dx10, basically locked at 30fps with PMDG / EGKK, sliders maxed out + bloom + 32X AA. + raining + overcast. Amazing, 20 years waiting for that Hardware: i9 9900k@ 5Ghz | RTX 2080 TI | AORUS MASTER | 58" Panasonic TV Software: P3Dv4.4 | AS | Orbx LC/TE Southern England | Tomatoshade | 737 NGX | AS A319 | PMDG 747 | TFDI 717 | MJC8 Q400
December 7, 201312 yr Working for me too, now. I re-applied the DX10 fixer light shaders, I probably didn't do that since I installed the PNW region... *blushes*
