November 5, 201312 yr No, you can't revert back to default FSX by the flick of a switch. Consider this a tattoo. You can remove it, but it will require some time and effort. In that case I will have to pass on this. Paul
November 5, 201312 yr In that case I will have to pass on this. Paul Yep. For a future flight sim it would be great if no addon was installed into the simulator itself. Rather the sim would provide a launch program where you could make a saved configuration of settings, aircraft, AI, secenery etc. Upon launching the flight all the scenery was installed, and when you exited that flight the simulator went back to default. November 5, 201312 yr Why would anyone even wanna go back to default textures, they look like sh... IMHO, somewhat out of line Kaboki. If ArtPom decides FTXG is not for him, then it is not for him. Flight simming, and how you (or I) set things up and how we fly is a series of personal choices. I often take heat and hits in forums (even at Avsim) for my personal choices and beliefs as to how things should be done and how we make (or ask someone else to make for us) decisions about our version of "as real as it gets". At least say "IMHO" in your strongly worded statements. IMHO Dan George (woodhick)Check out Greenbrier Aero Club, the VA for and about the GA pilot.

November 5, 201312 yr To lighten things up a bit: I do like your graphics dude. Dan George (woodhick)Check out Greenbrier Aero Club, the VA for and about the GA pilot.

It was simply a question, why would anyone go back to default... I should have used better words, I can see that now and Im sorry  And offcourse If he don't want FTX Global it's he's choice and I respect that, I was just interested to know why he would like to revert back to default textures... :Peace:
November 5, 201312 yr Kaboki!! If that's the worst thing you ever do in life, it sure ain't much. Incidentally, I'm a firm believer in FTXG and (almost) all things Orbx too. Dan George (woodhick)Check out Greenbrier Aero Club, the VA for and about the GA pilot.

Agree, you mention TOS, no EULA today?

November 5, 201312 yr Several reasons. Conflicts with other addons is my main reason. I run FSX default, and use FTX Global only in Prepar3D. Problem solved. I see, may I ask what addons you have trouble with? Just for my own reference to what products I have to stay away from. For the reason he states in his first post in this thread? I missed that post, but now I got the answers I was looking for, thanks..
November 5, 201312 yr Have tried to "keep it simple" as much as I can with scenery enhancements. Only have FTXG along side FlyTampa KMDW, Taxi2Gate KSTL, and Aerosoft Keflavik X. Plan on purchasing FTX LC and Vector as they get released. To me, the idea of having texture, LC, and vector software with global coverage and under one software developer is the best way to go. Some people have 300+ scenery file entries in their FSX folder and wonder why they're getting stability issues. I've compared FTXG to default FSX scenery. This is really only a subjective comparison unless you are personally familiar with the terrain being evaluated. Iceland is my birthplace and home for over 13 years. I'm very familiar with the landscape and what it looks like in real life. Default FSX always made it look like the Gobi Desert with a brownish look to everything. FTXG just makes it look far truer to real life. FTXG also makes the American Midwest look far more convincing. I fly from KSTL to KMDW and back twice a week. I have the aerial landscape of Illinois virtually tattooed in me head! again, FTXG offers a far more realistic representation of the area. With Open LC and Vector added, it should only get better. FTXG also renders trees far more convincingly than the Default. Night lighting is a night and day difference versus default. As with every product, FTXG has some shortcomings. Building styles don't always agree with actual local examples but this is still an improvement over FSX default. Regards
