November 8, 201312 yr Author hehe Well we did land at the correct airport. I had a lot of info flowing to me in a short amount of time. Learning on the fly is an understatement. I really am a complete noob to tube liners. Goran, If you want my opinion, the plane does have bugs. I have a knack at making a plane bug out or finding things other tester would not find. My stream is 100% unbiased and as real as anyone could ever review. Watch it and form an opinion, its pretty clear what are my screw ups and what the planes down falls are. List of things that could have been done better. 1) the cockpit texture. Too freaking reddish brown! 2) The flight attendant nags the crap out of you 3) Taxi light switch is mentioned in the check list but is no place to be found. (it checks with the anti coll lights????) And they don't move with the rudder pedals. 4) The check list tutorial only goes through the initial power up and stops short. This sucks because beyond that I still did not know what to do. (I blame Goran and the LES test for making such a kick butt checklist in the Saab, I am spoiled now!) 5) The manuals! Why give me 793 page ops manual, 323 page training manual, 302 page procedure manual, and a 14 page regular manual (which is useless and tells you nothing important). I don't have time to or the want to read that. I want something short and sweet with locations. Manuals like the FlyJsim 727 and the Saab 340a is what I was looking for. 6) Flaps being spaced to far..... Although that is not that important to me as I am inside the cockpit 99% of the time. With that list, I would still recommend buying the 757 (if you like tube liners). It really is not a bad aircraft and flying it by hand is real nice. It handles very very good!

November 8, 201312 yr Author The flight / flights can be found here. http://www.twitch.tv/atomicfrawg/c/3211393 It is 4.5 hrs long fell free to skip around. The thing about watching the video, you do not get to see how much info the chat is tossing at me and the questions or comments I respond too.To be honest it is real stressful, but it provides a type of raw and real entertainment not found in edited video. Also forgive me because my Cajun background and accent starts to fly at one point. Now you put me in the Saab340a, you would think I have flown it in real life. My videos with the Saab usually consist of a real time "how to" with VOR nav and flight planning. And this is the same with the FJS 727 (or I am working to that). However, one thing I would love to see happen with the saab. The ADF knob, needs tweaking. It took 2 mins to get to a NDB freq. It would be nice to have a click spot of each number or a click and drag. I tend to shy away from using NDB's for this reason. It is not really a big deal though. :Big Grin:

November 8, 201312 yr Author Oh, Last night there was a heated debate about TO/GO in the chat. They did not add the TO/GO button because of the 3d cockpit??? However this is the solution, and it is not the ERP button! From Philipp at the org EDIT: And pressing EPR is not the correct way to initiate TO/GA! On the real plane, there are two buttons on the thrust levers to activate To/GA. As this would be impossible to click in the 3d cockpit, we provide you with two alternative ways: 1. Assign the custom command: 1-sim/comm/AP/at_toga to a key combination or joystick button of your liking 2. Click the hidden clickspot on the MCP: The bottom left screw.

Yeah, it would be nice if Twitch would capture the chat in videos as well. It really adds a new dimension to it. Oh, Last night there was a heated debate about TO/GO in the chat. Checked, the 757 does not use a TO/GA activation button like say the 737 or others. We were wrong about that. (Been a long time since I cranked up my 757) You engage it with the EPR button on the MCP. You set the thrust rating condition to TO/GA on the main panel if not already prior to takeoff. That's probably why Boeing did it this way on the 757. There already is a control labeled TO/GA but has a different purpose. There is a Go around GA button on the throttles (Which I think is what caused the confusion) , but the EPR button on the MCP is what is used for Takeoff. The same goes for the 767 as well. Here's a video demoing it. There are plenty others on youtube. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_K3pJ_XMfMc Thanks Tom My Youtube Videos! http://www.youtube.com/user/tf51d
November 8, 201312 yr Author I am going to do this flight again tonight from Cold and dark. I ran through start up this morning (before work) and I have managed to get quicker at it and I sort of have it down. We are going to try the To/Go as Fight Factor wrote,by using the hidden button. And if that does not work we will explore different options with the EPR button. I did also find the below link useful http://www.convectivedigital.com/guide/757-767%20Study%20Guide.pdf

[PF]" On some 75/767's the EPR button is labeled "N1" I believe it depends on the engine variant, but it is essentially the same function. November 8, 201312 yr I can't show pics, because I would violate copyright, but do a Google image Search on "Boeing 757 Flaps", then compare them to the model or the pics in the posted review and you'll see what I mean! Well it's hard to find real world pictures with full flaps. But with a flaps extend to 20 or 25, you can already see the separation with the wings: http://www.flickr.com/photos/22331715@N06/8060408178/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/35869327@N02/6950773408/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/59506809@N03/8987164855/ I'm still reading the manual for now. Awesome add-on. In the future, I hope they'll also release the Boeing 767 and the Airbus A310. Georges - OpenStreetMap - Ubuntu GNU/Linux -

Yes from the bottom of the wing, you can see a little separation as that's the space of the wing overlaying the Flap, so in that sense there is actually is a small gap. which is why it's not as visible if at all from the top. On the FF 757 the Flaps actually pulls away from the wing, which is why it's so noticeable from the top angle, like the one in the review. That is not prototypical.
