China's Huai’An Lianshui ZSSH Celestial Team Scenery Released! [Pic Heavy]

Featured Replies

This may not be as exciting as some of the larger airports around the world, but for a Chinese man like me, it's more exciting than ever!

A new scenery team Celestial Team has just released ZSSH for FSX.  For a new emerging team coming out of China, you can't expect their quality to be that of some of the veterans around here, but still I'm proud to bring it to your attention that Chinese scenery is getting some attention at last!

Also on the topic, the reasonably established SkySoft team, has pushed out some sounding scenery for most FS9, but slowly moving to FSX; some freeware, and one payware (Sanya Haikou ZJHK).  The reason they haven't completely gone to FSX is because their financial capabilities to acquire hardware that runs FSX well enough to develop on.  I've just showed my support and luv with my plastic, and I'll leave you with some pics of these two airports.

ZSSH is useless since:

1. Navigraph does not have it in its charts.

2. Small, non-international chinese airports, have no charts publicly available in the internet.

ZSSH is useless

A little harsh, don't you think? It may not be an ideal airport for the hardcore simmer who wants to re-create everything exactly the way it is in real life, but this is great for Chinese simmers or those who do much of their flying in China, or others who may have an interest in the area. Right now, this is their only option if they want to fly into Huai'an without using the default scenery. Also, how do you know that charts are not included with the scenery?

You are speaking strictly for yourself, Mr.cptawsom.

If one ignores the lack of undercarriage, it's actually quite a nice landing.

Brenchen - thanks for your post, and a "Well done" for supporting the enthusiasts in an area of the world which is mostly missing.

And shame on you, Mr. Awsom, for a pretty mean-spirited comment.

Just allow me to clarify and tidy this up a little.

1.  Navigraph uses AIRAC, which uses the data published on CAIP for China.  China has another set of AIP called NAIP, this is strictly controlled inside China as it includes many military information and airways.  As an international pilot that flies into China, he/she does not need to know these information, simply fly what was given to them.  There are however addons that some enthusiasts in the FS community in China which added the NAIP information to the existing navigraph data, though due to the sensitivity, they are not always released to the international public (nor were there any demand for it).

2.  This is not entirely correct, I can get these charts no problems, free of charge.  For this particular airport indeed I cannot find it.  So either it doesn't have any charts to begin with, or it's very tightly controlled (which I doubt is the case for this particular airport).  To illustrate my point, tell me, are you able to get the charts for ZUBD publicly?  Or even ZULS?  ZUBD might be non international airport of China, there are still charts.  ZULS is an international airport, and it is freely available on www.vatprc.net/charts.

And do note that if you need extra charts for airports that are not in website listing (like ZUBD), send a ticket to these guys.  They can try to source them down for you.

Thanks for the support and affirmation by the others :)  By publishing more and more airport sceneries that are not Guangzhou, Chengdu, Beijing, Shanghai, you can appreciate more of the vast geography of China.  Europe has the Alps, China has the Himalayas, Europe has the Amsterdam Schipol with 5 runways, China also has Shanghai Pudong, also about to get their 5th runway.  We all know this, but not many knows the beauty of flying in regional China, thus the smaller airports aren't all that bad :)

Cheers,

Great post, thanks for the info. I landed at Haikou once and went to Sanya for a week. Great island--it's the tourist spot in China for people that like sun and beaches. Going to have to get this one!! :)

Thanks for the info Brendan. I'll be happy to see more sceneries from China. It's a beautiful country for flying.

Definitely worth getting.  Definitely well priced and affordable, plus the quality will certainly beat any of the freeware or default scenery no doubt.  Good purchase decision I think, plus it's going to be an intermediate airport, kind of in the middle, not too big like singapore.

Thanks for bringing this to everyone's attention, Brendan! We're not exactly spoiled for choice with Asian airports (particularly Chinese ones) and it's great that we now have another active developer.

Incidentally, since you seem to be following the Chinese development scene, do you know if there's been any news about an update for that payware Pudong scenery (that I gathered badly needed one to fix performance) or the Skysoft ZBAA scenery?

James

Actually they will send a email that include all the navigation information after purchase. :P

Most people in here do not know how to read.

I never said the airport is not welcome.

We do need more airports in China.

I said that it is useless because there are no charts available for it, either in Navigraph, or free in the internet.

PS: While as for other Chinese airports, they do exist. Apart from Navigraph, even if someone wants to go free, Google for example "ZBAA charts" or "ZSPD charts" and you will get results. But for "ZSSH charts", nothing.

PS2: No that I see it, it's useless in double: not even procedures-approaches for it exist, in the current NavDataPro AIRAC, that I have.

James, I know for certain there is a very nice freeware ZUUU underway, don't let the word freeware throw you off, you'd be surprised at the quality!

The reason freeware is still good is that the developers can't be bothered going through all that trouble making it payware and end up getting it pirated (sadly software piracy is hardly enforced in China, there are organisations which pirates FS software and publically resell them and make profit off it! Sad but nothing we or the developers can do...). I bring this to everyone's attention is so us people who know better can show our support for their work, and encourages more sceneries or addons from them. Honestly, their only profit really is from consumers outside of China...

Regarding Pudong, IIRC someone was onto it, another freeware I believe (for the same reasons mentioned), but I'm not too familiar with their progress. Or there was one non Chinese developer that I think is working on a payware pudong or Beijing, again I can't remember for sure.
