November 26, 201312 yr Anytime I use HDR I'm seeing these awful jaggies. I only use FXAA in-game (any more kills fps). Anyone had success with Nvidia Inspector? | My Liveries | FAA ZMP | PPL ASEL | | Windows 11 | MSI Z690 Tomahawk | 12700K 4.7GHz | MSI RTX 4080 | 64GB 6000 MHz DDR5 | 500GB Samsung 860 Evo SSD | 2x 2TB Samsung 970 Evo M.2 | EVGA 850W Gold | Corsair 5000X | HP G2 (VR) / LG 27" 1440p |
November 26, 201312 yr Hi Ryan, I use an ATI card, however like you I use very basic settings in XP's rendering menu (FXAA and the item below it I set to 1 x ). The great thing is I have NO JAGGIES because I set Anisotropic and Anti Aliasing properties via my ATI card interface itself .. the place you can allow the application to set the settings .. don't chosses this. Set the settings from with the hardware yourself and choose minimal settings from within X-Plane. Result for me is higher fps and it looks great!. Cheers,
November 26, 201312 yr Author I tried this initially without HDR when I first bought XP. The outcome was very poor. Perhaps I'll wait for an nvidia user to come along.... I guess I need some semi-specific guidance (I'm using a GTX 570) | My Liveries | FAA ZMP | PPL ASEL | | Windows 11 | MSI Z690 Tomahawk | 12700K 4.7GHz | MSI RTX 4080 | 64GB 6000 MHz DDR5 | 500GB Samsung 860 Evo SSD | 2x 2TB Samsung 970 Evo M.2 | EVGA 850W Gold | Corsair 5000X | HP G2 (VR) / LG 27" 1440p |
November 26, 201312 yr I don't think you can set AA in inspector with HDR on, that supersedes Inspector settings. It's frustrating I have a GTX titan and have to keep it at the second lowest setting.when I fly over busy scenery. With HDR off, you can set it in inspector. I used to have an SLI setup with 2 GTX 580s and you could use the SLI to increase AA and AS to unheard of levels with no performance hit with HDR off. Unless they change something in the core of XPX, I think we are stuck this way.
November 26, 201312 yr Author Darn! At night it's alright. But daytime is unacceptable amount of blurries... oh well | My Liveries | FAA ZMP | PPL ASEL | | Windows 11 | MSI Z690 Tomahawk | 12700K 4.7GHz | MSI RTX 4080 | 64GB 6000 MHz DDR5 | 500GB Samsung 860 Evo SSD | 2x 2TB Samsung 970 Evo M.2 | EVGA 850W Gold | Corsair 5000X | HP G2 (VR) / LG 27" 1440p |
November 28, 201312 yr Interesting - I also am using a GTX 570. With HDR X-plane 10 is pretty jagged for me as well. Ara Mahs, Private Pilot
November 29, 201312 yr I'll post my settings as soon as I get home. I believe I found a good combination between NI and X-plane... HDR is a must have at night. With powerful GPU, XPX seems to be limited by CPU on my system. I am using a GTX680SC but from the data output, my CPU load remains in the 80+ % but the ftime (is this the GPU load?) is 0.06.
