Best Boeing Jet?

You guys realize you can fly the PMDG by hand right? There's two ADF receivers and two VOR RMIs you can follow. You don't even have to program the FMC if you don't want to. You can get the V speeds by using the dials above the EICAS manually. No one forces you to use AP, A/T or even ILS. The PMDG handles extremely well, and feels like what you'd expect a 737 to feel like. It's extremely versatile.

Scott; Are you aware of the ugly history that goes with that screen name? The Tinmouse B737-200 is coming along quite nicely now too. www.tinmouse.orgRegardsBob ScottATP IMEL Gulfstream II-III-IV-V L-300Washington, DC

For classic old school steam gauge driven steel indetail, RFP is hard to beat but I've heard nothing but good things about the DF727 as well.Jay Eklund - Pilot 4332Senior VP Denver Operationshttp://www.pacificwestairways.com

I am with you on that one. Long live RFP!RH

Hi Staffan -- To have a DC-8 Super 63 created with the detail of the RFP 747-200 would just about beat everything! No, it would beat everything!! RH

I am almost sure that there are more DC8

Anything created with the same effort as the RFP 747-200 would be in my hangar pretty quick. It sure has raised the bar....billg

Thanks everyone for your input on this. As several folks pointed out, there is also the Level-D Simulations 767, and the Pheonix Simulation Software 777 coming up. It is pretty amazing we have so many quality Boeing add-on choices. Since I think I will enjoy more hands-on flying, I will get the Ready For Pushback 747-200 and the Dreamfleet 727.Also, I am not sure of the ugly history behind my callname papatango. It just sounded catchy. Anything I should be worried about? :)Scott

The patch (v1.1) has been out for weeks, for the CS 707. It still needs work but I haven't seen any comparable 707 anywhere (pay or free). The CS 727 has lots of "buttons"...which don't really "DO" anything...I have heard the DF 727 will be more inline with the Flight1 IK DC9...lot's of settings which YOU will have to get right! ( I like that, haven't tried it yet.) The CS 707 1.1 has solved all the "Major" problems with AP, using CIVA Inertial Navigation, and, allowing FSNav to fly the aircraft. (FSNav and GPS are TOTALLY unreal, and not worth mentioning when flying a 707). You should remember that a 707 will NOT fly the auto-pilot like a 737. YOU, the pilot, must get it very close to your desired VOR/INS and altitude before clicking on "AP". This is the 50's/60's...remember?? If you don't...don't expect that 1960's technology to prevent you from blasting right through your assigned altitude OR from "locking right on" to a VOR heading many degrees out. If you expect to fly the CS 707 like you do a modern 737...forget it! If you UNDERSTAND the vast difference in aviation technology...between then and now, and would enjoy hand flying a loud, smoky and sexy 707 until CLOSE to your altitude/heading/NAV...Go get it. As I said, version 1.1 solves all the major problems with AP and INS. Everyone else is complaining because it doesn't DO a 767!! ROTFLMBO!! The CS 727, however, is unimpressive in my view. I would probably check out the DF 727. I own both the CS 727(1.5) and 707(1.1).

I suggest if you like older jets, go with...1st) Dreamfleet 727-100/200...looks good, positive comments from buyers and great support...you can't loose with Flight1/Dreamfleet2nd) Ready for Pushback 747-200(2nd Edition)...good old-time Jumbojet with plenty of goodies...might even get the famous Ed Detroit to make a few panel texture improvements...maybe (see his postings in the screenshot forum).3rd) PMDG/Aerosoft's 737-800/900 stand-alone CD available in mid-January...that's right, the larger NG without buying the 600/700 for only $39.95 thru major sim-shops. This aircraft has all the bells and whistles along with one great virtual cockpit!!! I know what I

I am new to the sim-community and bought the 737-900 ng from Ariane. Why doesn't anyone mention this airplane. I think the activation security system is way to complicated...but the aircraft seams to be well made.Am I missing something?thxRobert
