January 9, 201412 yr Just an FYI, neither FSBuild nor FS Commander are used by us or supported by us so email the plan for us to check... Check your support email. As an aside what would you recommend to produce a valid flightplan ?
January 9, 201412 yr This section in our knowledgebase uses two suggestions and neither are commercial 3rd party FP Products. http://www.eaglesoftdg.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=22 B)
January 9, 201412 yr Ron Are you suggesting that we either enter the plans into the FMC by hand or use the default flight planner ? Both FSbuild and FScommander produce flightplans that can be successfully flown by all my other FMC equipped addons. Tomorrow I will try with the default planner with all my addon scenery disabled, the CX should be able to fly for an hour then descend without the Gauges freezing in that scenario. If it can, then there is possibly an issue with the way it uses the Navdata.
January 9, 201412 yr Ron Are you suggesting that we either enter the plans into the FMC by hand or use the default flight planner ? That's how it was built without regard for 3rd party planners. Note: The RW guys don't have access to third party plan builders that we are aware of. If it can, then there is possibly an issue with the way it uses the Navdata. We've stated many times that possible DB corruption/scenery/afcad errors or other unknown factors may be the proximate cause as we are still unable to duplicate. You are welcome to send along the plan file for our testing.
January 9, 201412 yr Commercial Member First, I'll state that I have asked for physical flight plans many times and never received a single one. Having one that actually locked would be a plus. Second, using a 'flight planner' technically should not make a difference... as long as you have no SIDs, STARs or approaches in said flight plan. Waypoints in procedures are not the same type of waypoint you will find for an enroute plan and there is literally no way any flight planner, including the one built into FS can correctly define the waypoints for any procedure that this aircraft can fly. Entering a flight plan into the FMS isn't nearly as difficult as one might think. In fact, entering it in is as easy as using a flight plan from FlightAware. Here's one as example from KLGB to KTEB: SLI TRM J78 DRK J134 GUP GCK J18 SLN J24 MCI UIN BVT DJB J82 JHW LVZ4 In the FMS you'd enter: SLI TRM J78.DRK J134.GUP GCK J18.SLN J24.MCI UIN BVT DJB J82.JHW Then select the LVZ4 arrival with the JHW transition. The RNAV 06 Y approach with the STW transition would finish it all out nicely, assuming you're landing on 06. Ed Wilson Mindstar AviationMy Playland - I69
January 9, 201412 yr I'll go further and speculate that plans can and do have errors and so do users, hence a plan request by us. We don't do housecalls and have no way of verifying accuracy of users or planners efforts. Same is true of DB errors.
March 31, 201412 yr Wow, you are lucky to even get the Cit-X flying. On ALL of my flights, VNAV never works; speed hold won't keep my chosen speed and vertical profile (altitude selected) just doesn't obey what I put into FMS. Also, while I am always able to start Engine-2 following the normal APU-bleed-assisted process, I have never been able to start Engine-1 using APU-bleed or Engine-2 cross-bleed, I always have to use FSX's shortcut "Ctrl+E" to get the engines going. I practically have to handfly the damned thing from origin to destination...leaving me to pick very short routes of 30min. This is for the Wilco FeelThere's Citation-X. As for Eaglesoft's Citation-X v2, I have absolutely NEVER been able to start the engines, only the APU starts and after some minutes of running, it stops and all electrical power (APU, batteries) cease...the aircraft is plunged into a cold-&-dark state and remains so until I REBOOT the FSX app.
March 31, 201412 yr Moderator Considering the thousands of folks who are successfully flying the ESDG CitX, one has to suspect pilot hubris to possibly be a proximate cause. In any case, Eaglesoft has support forums for their products, so your best chance to get help will be found there, assuming you actually want help of course. Fr. March 31, 201412 yr Fulani, check our answer in the other CX thread. Our forums are your source for product support. You will not receive it here at Avsim. On this topic we now have a few users in our forums who no longer experience MFD freeze when operated correctly. Their experiences can be found there...
September 7, 201411 yr Digging up an old one but have mfd freeze now. Switch to 2d and it still works so atleast can complete the flight
September 7, 201411 yr Commercial Member Don't necromancer old threads, especially for something that should be discussed in the proper support forum, hosted by Eaglesoft. Ed Wilson Mindstar AviationMy Playland - I69
September 7, 201411 yr Anyone remotely interested in this saga is directed to our support forum where they will find recorded success stories of guys who did operate correctly and the MFD freeze disappeared. In no case will we rehash this as we consider the matter closed. B)
September 7, 201411 yr The issue still exists, basically the MFD locks up around 70 nm from the destination airport. Eaglesoft basically cannot fix it or do not wish to investigate the problem, Buyer beware and it hurts me to say that as I always thought these were the good guys in this hobby.

Why do you make such an unfounded sweeping generalization? Is it because they insist on using their own dedicated support forums instead of the general AVSIM FSX forum? Support is a two way street; no one can be helped who refuses to use the proper venue for support, and is unwilling to engage in a diagnostic dialogue. September 7, 201411 yr Maddog, to repeat the post above yours which you either have not read or failed to comprehend..
