Before I purchase P3d V2

He is saying that there are lots of people who infer that they are paying the Academic price when they should be paying the Pro price, and Avsim is silent on the subject. Whether Avsim should be saying anything is of course open to debate. Given Avsim's almost ferocious defense of LM's EULA, I have been slightly surprised that they haven't, but it doesn't bother me either way.

I'm quite glad to see that it does not bother you either way, because Avsim, being a global site, will recognise that American EULA (agreed to NOT at time of purchase, but rather time of installation - meaning after purchase) will not apply to all countries. Hence they keep out of it. No wonder they have been ferocious.

Anyway guys I think i will go with XPX. P3d v2 does not sound sweet anymore.

Just Try It. You can return it within 60 days if you don't like it. Plus there are more updates to come.

Though you don't qualify. Lockeed Martin developers put a lot of hard time and effort into this product, and it would be a huge shame to short them of the money that they rightfully deserve. The flightsim community thrives on people who are honest and do the right thing. Those who disobey the LEGAL rules, should be punished. I am surprised that avsim does not try to stop this from occurring. It damages the entire community.

I first agreed with you on this post not fully reading what you were saying. The Academic version is perfectly fine for anyone is the study of Aviation. We all qualify for this as none of us use Flight Simulator as a game. The Academic version is the version I'm going to get. I could care less about the watermark. It's not good to scold people when you don't fully understand what your scolding them about.

I don't think it's useful anymore to say you are wrong, is it…?  I am sure some mod will clean this topic real soon.  ^_^ Just as some other I just can't resist saying what I think about this LOL Pity there isn't a filter for these kind of posts.  :P

Read the category division in the link below. It clearly lays out who qualifies for what.

Well I'm in a flying club, my son is in school learning about Aviation, and I do use it for instruction and reference for real world reference so I'll get the Academic version.

Since "snowingairlines" introduced the EULA subject once more, this interesting discussion has been derailed completely, so it's time for a lock...
