December 30, 201312 yr People are having a downer on the level of complexity that QW offer. You'll be correct in assuming that the failure modes or obscure procedures that PMDG offer will be absent. However the normal flight aspect is well covered and this isn't a CTRL-E and off you go quality of aircraft. QW offer immersive aircraft that have good looks, believable depth and also accessibility and will give you good FPS.
December 30, 201312 yr I'm sure it'll have enough buttons and functions to keep me entertained and giving me the ability to fly from A to B without too much drama. Visually the model looks great, I'm sure the VC will match. It'll be refreshing to be able to jump in, input the flight and do some short hops. I'm looking forward to it. December 31, 201312 yr And will this new project slow down their proposed B787? It shouldn't, given that they acquired the people who were originally working on the 737, so by the sounds of it, the original QualityWings people are working on the 787 whereas the original Enigma Simulations people who were originally working on the 737 are....well....working on the 737. Captain Kevin Air Kevin 124 heavy, wind calm, runway 4 left, cleared for take-off. Live streams of my flights here.
December 31, 201312 yr I think we would all be happy with a 787 to the level of the Avro. Ernie knows what he is doing with avionics programming. I am also looking forward to the 737 even with what I said above
December 31, 201312 yr I guess if it pushes forward a dead project then it's a good thing. Don't know about QW though, never had any of their planes, only the vague impression that they made mid-level stuff. Hopefully the project was far enough along already that it will retain some of the Pmdgedness that was originally intended by the Enigma people.
December 31, 201312 yr From what I read on some of the comments, when they read "complexity...simplified" they think almost default level simulation. If you fly the airbus x then you will be fine with this aircraft. I think it will be better simulated than the airbus x. I'm sure it will have an FMC with everything that you will need in it, filling in your flight plan, entering you weights, V-speeds, and ect. And how many people fly with failures on? I think most people just want to get from point A to point B without an engine flame out. But maybe that's just me. Anyway, I have full faith in the past enigmasim now QW team.
December 31, 201312 yr I would be curious if any of the avionics code from the avro will be used to speed up development. From pictures, it looks like some of the avionics are shared between planes. For those who are worried about systems complexity, the avro is similar to the airbus x. It has everything that you need to get from point a to point b. Where the difference to PMDG is, is when people want a to have the plane fail and engine on its own, and to have realistic procedures all the way to the ground, for every failure. Ryan L.
