Stop that John...I said a week, not a day

You lot are a bad influence! Just ordered a 4GB GTX 760; couldn't stretch the budget enough for the 770, but it ought to be a nice upgrade from my ailing HD 6870 all the same.

More on topic, however: the new winter textures are looking great so far! This add-on will be a very welcome improvement since I like to frequent Alaska and Canada.

My thing with UrbanMaxx is if a street is pointing one way and the UrbanMaxx textures are pointing another..... it drives me crazy. Kind of like the hardwired North-south East-texture orientation of Fsx when the roads were all on another orientation entirely, causing highways over stadium textures and etc.......

I always hated it and its one of the greatest strengths of XPX that that's gone forever....

It just seems so retro to deliberately bring it back......

Yes, to a certain extent, it does.  With the Old Town/City (can't remember which), it just seems to fill in so many blanks.  I just get up there and try not to follow streets ... that's the beauty of flying!

I finished downloading most of the hd_mesh v2 for Continental US and Iceland today and am enjoying it. I was stationed in Iceland during the 60s so it is fun to look around.  Couldn't do hd_mesh before with any stability at all.  May try Europe next since download times have improved.  Hard to keep up with all those section numbers...

You guys will make people think I get a kickback from nVidia.  That would be great, but it hasn't happened yet.  They just make good stuff.

Well I will probably be one of the first people to nab the winter textures!

Speaking of textures If you want to see what XPX can really look like, go here: http://isdg.com.au/scenery-packages/

And grab the Ksea photo-real underlay. If this was used for the entire Seattle area in the demo, sales would probably double. It really shows what XPX could be. And of course there are other tasty things there.

Back on subject, when the winter textures come out, I will be heading straight for ALASKA!  B)

Yes, I guess we did get a little off-topic, but in a way they were inter-related. Yes, they look good. That's why my old graphics card was having a hard time
