January 2, 201412 yr Let me get it out there the trees are from Andras Fabian and the old beaches are still intact... "Well, SHIVER (brrrrrr) me timbers, mate....thar be snow upon the land....arrrrrrrrrrrrghhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. About time, arrrrrrrrrrghhhh!"
January 2, 201412 yr My graphics card is already getting nervous! Normal Maps shouldn't be too much of a hit on FPS......
January 3, 201412 yr That's good news. I just finished building a new computer, but still have my older GTX 560 - 1 GB. It's doing pretty well, but I have turned off HDR to allow other nice things. Other than lights at night, I don't miss it too much. It would be nice if I could have video use some of my 16 GB of system DRAM! John John Wingold

I just went from a GTX580 1.5GB to a GTX770 4GB to help out with the 16GB of RAM I got a couple of months ago, and I can have HDR with good AA and many other settings very high. XP looks very nice indeed using the extra VRAM, even with my old i5. i910900k, RTX 3090, 32GB DDR4 RAM, AW3423DW, Ruddy girt big mug of Yorkshire Tea
January 3, 201412 yr Yeah, I would love to do that, but I went from an old i-5 to an i7-4770 with a new motherboard and a few other goodies and it made a tremendous difference. The main problem - the wife doesn't understand that a 70 year old man needs new toys! John John Wingold

January 3, 201412 yr Let me throw up a few early SS's for you to enjoy........There are a ton of textures and even more .ter definitions to edit before we have a valid product. Thank goodness I can partially automate some of the tasks.... Last on at ground level: Does the snow have brown tint to it ? Or is it my monitor that is playing tricks on me ? AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D, RTX 4080S, Ram - 32GB, 32" 4K Monitor, WIN 11. Eric Escobar
January 3, 201412 yr John / X-Aviation, are doing for X-Plane 10, what we really needed long ago! Internally I know Austin, Ben, Tom, Philipp and others are also doing their best to bring X-Plane 10.30 Just yesterday Austin told me he will try to address, also for 10.30 if he finds the time slot to still do it, the long time ice accumulation logic bug / limitation. We will get for 10.30 a revised Ice Accumulation logic for our aircraft!!!! Whow!!!! Jcomm, is Austin working on the torque bug ? AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D, RTX 4080S, Ram - 32GB, 32" 4K Monitor, WIN 11. January 3, 201412 yr Jcomm, is Austin working on the torque bug ? Yes!!!!! He is after all ! I confess that after reading Ben's answers I felt disappointed, because Ben didn't address the questions that could suggest that indeed they'e still working on it, but yesterday, thx to Alec, I was informed that indeed Austin is still at it. Since Austin also ackonwledged the need for a more plausible icing simulation ( ice accumulation on aircraft surfaces, etc... ) and told me he would try to add it to 10.30 too, it continues to look as if 10.30 is probably going to be as important as the migration to the 64 bit version of X-Plane 10 :-) Flying gliders since 1980 Flightsimming since 1992 AMD Ryzen 5600x, 32GB RAM, GPU Nvidia RTX 3060 Ti 8 GB, 1 TB and 500 GB nvme2 SSD drives, HP 27" 60Hz LED monitor @ 1920x1080, T16000, Hotas from old X52 Pro, Saitek Combat Rudder Pro (2010 model)
January 3, 201412 yr This will only be a textures pack or it will contain a special plugin ? Its going to be more then just a texture pack.......What direction we take is in the air, still working out those details Does the snow have brown tint to it ? Or is it my monitor that is playing tricks on me ? Probably seeing the shadows at play with the normal maps.......NM will be toned down in the final release......
January 3, 201412 yr Hi, looks good, but:- Will it know if it's snowing. For example, in the UK the ground is still green/brown except when we have heavy snow. So will this product know that? Thanks! Ian
