January 12, 201412 yr Anyone else having problems coupling an ILS to the FD? As many bugs are in the APP and FDP the beta team should be very embarrassed. Or, maybe we are the beta team. :(
January 12, 201412 yr Yup, we are the beta team B) The autopilot is at it's core the original FSX autopilot.. Are you using the FMC? If yes, that is all new code and I have no idea what works and does not. I use the RXP GNS530W, and Carenado recommends against using the two together. Using the RXP unit, both ILS and LPV approaches work fine. Typically have the NAV1 radio tuned to the localizer, fly at approximately 2000 feet AGL towards final in ALT and HDG mode. The localizer and glideslope show up on the EHSI - as long as you are below it, you can push APR and the autopilot couples.. Bert
January 12, 201412 yr Author Bert, Thanks, both the UNS-1 and the Carenado GNS530 were on but I was manually flying the ILS into KBJC 29R. Came in from left and below with HDG and APP ARMed and the airplane flew right through the localizer. I S turned it back and it flew through a second time and the FD ignored the GS. Double checked the LOC was on the EHSI and it was. Gave up and flew it manual, command bars were out to lunch the entire approach. LOC and GS flickered a few time on approach. Considering this is Carenado's third King Air and all of them use very similar Collins APS 65 AP this is very disappointing.
January 27, 201412 yr I just flew a ILS 34L at Salt Lake yesterday with FSX vectors. Had it dialed in on Garmin 530. Tower directed 9000 until intersect ILS. Never picked up glide slop after selecting APPR on AP. Checked all Freqs and they were correct. Was not using FMS. Anyone have any suggestions? This is the first time it happened to me. I have flown a couple other approaches at home airport with no problems.
January 27, 201412 yr Carenado B1900D test KDTW ILS 4R LOC intercept and tracking, Glideslope intercept and tracking. Best Regards, Vaughan Martell PP-ASEL KDTW
January 27, 201412 yr Author It seems to be one of those happens sometimes events. Yesterday I was flying the DEN ILS34L and the FD refused to captured either the LOC course or the GS. Yet when I got away from DEN and flew an approach into CYS it worked perfect. I do have the imagine sim DEN packet installed but that does not explain why it won't track over at BJC and other aircraft track the ILS34L just fine.
January 27, 201412 yr I used default P3DV2 scenery KBJC 29R (111.7) today - Carenado B1900D. Intercepts and tracking LOC and glideslope ok. Best Regards, Vaughan Martell PP-ASEL KDTW
January 29, 201412 yr Greetings, I am glad to hear I am not the only one who experienced this glitch. I recently had same thing happen flying ILS into Ohare and Detroit. However recent flight, shooting same approach, all is well. Cbreeze

Did you do a screenshot of your panel when you seen a problem? Are you using purchased scenery? Did you go missed and try again? Best Regards, Vaughan Martell PP-ASEL KDTW
January 29, 201412 yr Vonmar, Answers to your questions: Default Carenado panel, no extras FSX No No No
January 29, 201412 yr Vonmar, Answers to your questions: Default Carenado panel, no extras FSX No No No Ok, Maybe next test ILS approach try with the FMC off (just as a test). Best Regards, Vaughan Martell PP-ASEL KDTW
January 30, 201412 yr Author Greetings, I am glad to hear I am not the only one who experienced this glitch. I recently had same thing happen flying ILS into Ohare and Detroit. However recent flight, shooting same approach, all is well. Cbreeze I get the same thing, happens sometimes. Two exact same approaches to the same airfield and one time it will capture the ILS just fine and the next it won't. I don't even know how to report this to Carenado as it is not exactly repeatable every time. I turn off the UNS-1 prior to an approach just to make sure it is not the culprit.
January 30, 201412 yr In spite of the glitches, I sure do love this aircraft. Hopefully all will shake out in the end. cbreeze
January 30, 201412 yr Do we only have two pilots with this problem at present? Best Regards, Vaughan Martell PP-ASEL KDTW
