January 14, 201412 yr Well, sometimes we find an add-on that "makes your sim" worth everything :-) I have found 1, actually 2 - The QPAC A320 and Peter's A321. I can't really express the sensation of having finally met two airliners so well modelled in each and every respect.Yes they both miss the fancy 3d cockpit views, but will be upgraded. Yes they do not fully implement the various flight laws of an Airbus, their FMGS / FMGC are far from being complete, but what they model they do it with a quality that I really can't find in any other airliner add-on, although theSSG 747-8i is getting near and I also look forward for it! There is also Peter's A380, another Masterpiece when it comes to FBW modelling, but it is even more limited insystems modelling, and IMO need an upgrade, which I will gladly pay for! Although the QPAC and Peter's versions are very similar, and based on the same plugins to implement the Airbus FBW,the models are different in the way they were implemented. I'd say I miss the popup MCDU in the QPAC version, and I miss the popup FPD, ND and pedestal in Peter's A321 :-) The QPAC has additional features as I have already mentioned at another post such as: - Station auto-tuning enroute;- the chance to set P / B / D waypoints;- the chance to "jump" to the next waypoint ( or Max 100NM between current and next position ) if your in Cruise mode, withprecise calculation of fuel consumption- the chance to define some functionalities through a separate MCDU menu, such as the start mode you want for the aircraft etc... They're both BY FAR my preferred X-Plane 10 aircraft ! Some shots from an LPPT - ELLX flight here: http://forum.avsim.net/topic/432146-qpac-a320-basic-version/#entry2905469 Stepping to next waypoint, or Max 100NM from current POS: Flying gliders since 1980 Flightsimming since 1992 AMD Ryzen 5600x, 32GB RAM, GPU Nvidia RTX 3060 Ti 8 GB, 1 TB and 500 GB nvme2 SSD drives, HP 27" 60Hz LED monitor @ 1920x1080, T16000, Hotas from old X52 Pro, Saitek Combat Rudder Pro (2010 model)
January 14, 201412 yr Would you recommend getting them both? Which one would you choose if you had to? It sounds like the QPAC has a slight edge over Peters version? Also, do you know if one can get the coming versions by just paying the difference or do we have to buy the PRO version for full price later as well? January 14, 201412 yr Like stated in another post, the true enthusiastic needs both! And don't ask about the fanatics! ;-)
January 14, 201412 yr Author I will ask about the upgrade policy for the QPAC. Peter's A320/21 will get a very good 3d cockpit anytime soon, with additional features added to the cockpit. That's an advantage. If I had to choose one, I would go fo the QPAC, because I really find the Premium version very promising. The functionalities of the QPAC are already more, in it's Base version, than those of Peter's. I particularly like the popup FPD and ND / ECAM and the "jump to nect waypoint", among others... January 14, 201412 yr Author Yep, I am really not an exigent guy when it comes to graphics :-/ A good / functional 2D panel will be more than good for me. I love the PMDG 777, but I would probably use it in 2D if it came with a 2D panel :-) For GA, or even a simulated glider, then I opt for the 3D panel / cockpit :-) Being a long time user of ELITE helps too :-) Flying gliders since 1980 Flightsimming since 1992 AMD Ryzen 5600x, 32GB RAM, GPU Nvidia RTX 3060 Ti 8 GB, 1 TB and 500 GB nvme2 SSD drives, HP 27" 60Hz LED monitor @ 1920x1080, T16000, Hotas from old X52 Pro, Saitek Combat Rudder Pro (2010 model)

I went ahead and picked up QPAC A320 (man, I really need to stop buying aircraft..). Not having a 3D-cockpit was a bit unfamiliar at first. However the 2D panel is of good quality and I'm slowly getting used to it. For some reason, though, I couldn't set V-speeds and cruise altitude on the INIT page. I entered the FL and it just vanishes. Am I missing something? Richard 7950x3d | 32Gb 6000mHz RAM | 8Tb NVme | RTX 4090 | MSFS | P3D | XP12
January 14, 201412 yr Author The V-speeds have to be manually entered / calculated. I use a table I have for the real A320, or FSBuild. The Cruise Alt should not be problematic? Can you give some shots? I will only be able to take a few myself tomorrow :-/ I will post it here - an example of flight prep in the QPAC, which is pretty much the same in Peter's version... I have no pics ATM, but Its really odd. I enter a desired CRZ on the INIT-page and for a split second the FL and temperature flashes but then disappears. If not, which AC config are you using in FSBUILD? Thanks.... Pilots: Looking down on people since 1903.

January 15, 201412 yr Hi Jcomm, How do these models compare to the JARDesign A320? I know that one would have more systems implemented but are these ones nicer to fly particularly if flying manually during takeoff and landing? I've always felt that the A320 NEO seems a bit 'off' when hand-flying. Also, in their current state do they include managed CLD and DES modes? Or do you have to work out T/D yourself and use OP DES mode? Michael R
January 15, 201412 yr Author Michael, let's just say I have uninstalled the NEO... I appreciate the graphics, the nice animations of cargo, fuel, pushback etc... I even appreciate the more detailled FMGC/MCDU, but, I don't really find the way it flies / simulates the Airbus FBW anyway near what Peter's A321/21 and the QPAC A320 offer. January 15, 201412 yr Can the popups be displayed in other monitors? What other popups are available? Can you popup the MCDU and overhead? Is this the free version?
