Yes, they look too dark. in fact even the default terrain looks dark.

My guess is it's the time of day/lighting. I left tampere around 2/2:30, which is almost time for the sun to set that far north & arriving into Salzburg it was getting dark (using HDR lighting). If it was lighter, I'm pretty sure the terrain would look different :)

It's amazing with these visuals the ATC/AI engine has not been expanded upon to make it rival FS9/FSX/P3D v2...

Very nice - XPX is looking better every day.

 

I do have to admit, however, that flying in real-world conditions (ala snow on the ground) does make FSX/P3D just a bit more real. Summer is nice and all, but seasons are there to remind you how nice summer really can be!   :)
