February 6, 201412 yr Just switched from DX9 -> DX10 after having some serious OOMs issues trying to fly the NGX to one of Aerosoft's latest releases (LGTS Thessaloniki) and the NGX works perfectly fine in every aspect but one thing that I really miss and was hoping for is cockpit shadows. According to the developer of the DX10 Fixer Tool shadows in the virtual cockpit could most probably be added to the NGX but it needs to be done by you guys since it requires some change in the a/c model. Check out this post written by the DX10 Tool developer. http://forum.avsim.net/topic/421981-vc-shadows-and-pmdg-777/?p=2808922 If it's a rather quick fix it would really be amazing if you could look into this and personally I would be happy to pay for an update adding shadows in the virtual cockpit.
February 6, 201412 yr They won't do it, they already made the money off of us and they're aren't going to go any further then that I don't think. Ron Hamilton "95% is half the truth, but most of it is lies, but if you read half of what is written, you'll be okay." __ Honey Boo Boo's Mom
February 6, 201412 yr Author Well...every now and then it happens someone does something not to get your money but actually to be kind. Or maybe in a case like this as a way to say "We decided to give you this as a way to thank you for your business and support". I know I would definitely consider it if it was my call and it's a quick thing to do that would make lots of my customers very happy.

February 6, 201412 yr Author i reckon it will be added to the P3D release Guess you're right but would be great if it could be done also for FSX.

February 6, 201412 yr Author Its possible, it can be done.Example... Orbx went and upgraded all the lights in the whole of Australia 2 years after it was released for free!Exactly, this is what I'm talking about and if the change required is minor and very quick I don't see why it couldn't be done. Let's say the required change to the model could be implemented by putting in only a day or two or maybe even only a couple of hours. Wouldn't that be a great thing to make lots of users very happy, I sure think so.
February 6, 201412 yr Lets see if we get a response from PMDG. Tick tock tick tock etc
February 6, 201412 yr Author Lol I'm still waiting for them to fix the position light error in the SDK which is an extremely easy and fast fix. Tick tock tick tock etc Well...I'm not holding my breath for sure but I'm still hoping for a pleasant surprise. I guess it will probably not be realistic to hope for this as a separate patch/fix but maybe and hopefully all these things will be included in next SP.
February 7, 201412 yr Haven't you heard of the upcoming SP2 for the NGX yet? Asking for those shadows doesn't hurt ... No I haven't heard of the upcomming SP2 for NGX yet. Where are you getting your information from? Somewhere official or just rumors?
February 7, 201412 yr Could very well be its the 'cube' PMDG build around the VC model that's preventing shadows. Should be easy to fix in FSX. I'm waiting for a P3D version which will require a low polygon model of the aircraft together with VC to have nice shadows in - and outside the aircraft when looking through the window. Gerrit
February 7, 201412 yr No I haven't heard of the upcomming SP2 for NGX yet. Where are you getting your information from? Somewhere official or just rumors? This thread is rather official with several PMDG beta testers participating: http://forum.avsim.net/topic/419249-question-to-pmdg-about-ngx-service-pack-2/ What happened to AVSIM

Until there is some sort of official announcement, I can only assume there is currently "NO" NGX SP2 in development.
