Was service pack ever finished for Saab340?

Featured Replies

Hi everyone,

Was the expected SP for the X-Aviation Saab340 ever finished? I remember seeing news sometime ago and have not heard anything for sometime now. I sent an email to x-aviation weeks ago and never got a response. I have it in the hanger as it hits my system so hard i can't enjoy it at all. If i'm not mistaken, the SP was supposed to address performance issues some are having. Thanks in advance for any info.  :-)

I`m also waiting for some kind of info. It was supposed to be released in December last year, if I`m not mistaken. But all went silent afterwards.

Been wondering this myself. It seemed to be near release at the end of last year but now it's eerily silent. It's easy to like the Saab, but wouldn't really recommend it until we see some performance optimizations.

Apologies for the unexpected delay in the update.

It is finished and is being tested.  We've added some new features (1 being gen failure rendering the Autopilot, altimeter and VS indicator inoperative...thus relying on the standby altimeter), as well as more optimized code, bug fixes in sound, and a few other fixes I can't remember off the top of my head.

Why would a GEN failure render the AP/Alt & VS inoperative?  Wouldn't it be the inverter?  And, doesn't it have a STBY inverter?

I don't really have the space or time to outline the electrical system in the Saab, but this is from a Saab Captain who has 11000+ hours in a Saab 340...

if you have a double gen failure, three main items below.

1. the left side altimeter and vsi shouldn't be working

2. the autopilot shouldnt be working
3 a number of other busses should have dropped off line"

OK, a double GEN failure...I agree.  That is highly improbable.  I assumed a single GEN failure.

Thanks!

Cool, I havent taken her out of the hanger either due to the performance.

Great news, hope to see the update soon. Thanks.

Perfect! The performance boost is fanstastic, it feels and flies much smoother now, even in dense scenery and clouds! I´d say, fps went up about 25-30%.

Aw, man! I have to work for another five hours before I can get my mittens on the update... Poor old Richard... :(
