March 13, 201412 yr Author Got my new Jetline system last Friday. I have been having so much fun that it should be illegal. Of course, Jetline preloads FSX and tests it before they deliver. When I fired it up (without all the Rex, Orbx, and ASE addons), they had set all the sliders to the right. The frames were in the 80's, 90's, and yes....the 100's. I couldn't friggin believe it. After several days of systematically adding all my candy, I'm still in the 50's, 60's, etc. I've compared my same flights at the same airports that I used on my old Jetline system to this new one, and I'm in Heaven. Whether you believe me or not, I can't control your thinking. However, there's no reason to tell you something that's not true. What a pleasure to fly with total fluidity. Incredible. My processor and my Nvidia 780ti are incredible pieces of hardware. I'm now ready for the future. Bring it on! Stan
March 14, 201412 yr Glad to hear it, Stan!! Wish you were next door so I could see it for myself!! Been anxiously awaiting your report! When my current system starts to falter --- I'm calling Jetline! Bruce
March 15, 201412 yr Author I can tell you it is REAL! There would be no reason for me to exaggerate this. I'm flying with great smoothness, and I've determined that NVidia Inspector is not kind to the 780ti video card. It would have to be updated with new settings for this card for me to try it again. Without it, and no tweaks except highmem fix, I'm really enjoying the fluidity of the sim. I really have everything turned up to the right.....all the autogen....all the way. This new system (see my specs in the original post) is beyond belief for me. I just can't wait to fly daily. Yes....it does go down in the high 30's and 40's in KSEA, but there are no stutters or anything else that interferes with the smoothness. Weather that is intense is the only thing that brings the FPS down a bit. Not a problem though. I'm crossing my fingers for it to continue. Stan
March 16, 201412 yr Stan- Congratulations on your new toy! it sounds like you're extremely satisfied, and that's really what our hobby is all about. Your frames rates are dazzling, and as a former FSX pilot, I'm suitably impressed! Having departed FSX for XPlane 10 64-bit, I can only admire and applaud your success in getting FSX performance into what most of us would consider 'amazing' territory! I wish you happiness and joy with your new platform! Now that you've licked your PC issues, I'm betting the next step may be higher-end actual hardware from a company like FlightDeckSolutions (among others). If you fly Boeing jets, I can assure you that the FDS FMC and MCP-panel products are real game-changers, and with hardware like you already own, the addition of a full-scale CDU and MCP panel will make your setup even more enjoyable. Then, if you haven't yet, you might consider triple monitors so you can 'see around the corners' when you're turning base and final. The triple monitors alone were a HUGE improvement. My visual flight skill set improved in the 737 by a substantial margin. The CDU also made the entire process hugely more fun, and it is true to life in every way, and available for 737 or 777 from FDS. I encourage and applaud your continued participation in this wonderful hobby of ours. R. Scott McDonald B738/L Information is anecdotal only-without guarantee & user assumes all risks of use thereof. March 18, 201412 yr Stan, I read your first entry regarding Jetline building your new computer and I too made the jump as Jetline is building one for myself with most of the same componets as you have. Greg was great in helping me pick out the best componets for my FSX and FS2004. I am also retired and still enjoy my aviation career that started back in 1964. Now, I am a DAR and issue Airworhiness Certificates to aircraft and rotorcraft. I look forward to many hours of flying the C-130E and the Boeing fleet. We have a saying, if it's not a Boeing, I am not going. Regards, Dale Johnson Retired FAA ASI  Stan, After reading about your new computer, I also took the plunge. Jetline is building one for my hobby with pretty much the same componets as yours. Greg was very instrumental in helping me choose the right componets to ensure smooth running of both FSX and FS2004. I look forward to many hours of flying the C-130E and the Boeing fleet. I am also retired, but in my spare time as a DAR, I issue Airworthiness Certificates to aircraft/rotorcraft that come home from foreign registry. Regards, Dale Asticou

March 24, 201412 yr Stan, Have you received your new computer yet?? Also, how many monitors do you plan on using?? I am toying with the idea of added 2 more Samsung 27" monitors to my existing one. Regards, Dale Asticou
March 27, 201412 yr Author Just one 27" Asus monitor with high resolution. Yes. If you go through this thread, you will see that I reported on it. Fantastic frames and wonderful performance. I did find that NVidia Inspector wasn't a friendly program to the 780ti graphics card, so I am no using it. It's so much better in my particular situation without it, and I couldn't be happier with the graphics and the fluidity of the sim. All my sliders are to the right, and I use ORBX Global and Vector with UTX only in Alaska. Pacific Northwest and Rockies never looked better, and I'm actually not stuttering over New York City with Drzewiecki Design NY addon. Everything is working like a well-oiled machine. Only tweak I'm using is HIGH MEM FIX. That's it! Stan
March 28, 201412 yr Congratulations Stan! Wow, I'm sure you're thrilled with your new baby! I want to share with you 'builders' a great color balancing tool I discovered called Xrite ColorMunki. This unit measures ambient light (and Stan, if you're a single-monitor person, you can leave the ColorMunki connected to auto-adjust your colors and brightness/contrast ON THE FLY! The software is simple to download from the Xrite website (ColorMunki DISPLAY is the program you want). Fire up the program and plug your ColorMunki analyzer into an empty USB port. Device is recognized. Step 1 - CM (ColorMunki) reads ambient light on your work surface. Step 2 - Rotate the light diffuser from the top of the CM to the bottom of it, exposing the 'electronic eye'. Step 3- Use the included counterweight (adjustable) and hang your color munki over your monitor [for best results tip your monitor back a tad so the CM won't move around. Step 4- Click Next to begin calibration of your display. Step 5 - sit back and wait about 5 minutes. You'll see a huge difference in your color settings. Everything will display as intended (bonus - a treat if you do photographic work because now what you see on screen is what will output to your printed photos). ColorMunki can handle LED monitors, Laptops, and even projection screens. Requires Free CM software. Download software and drivers (unified package) from xrite.com. Ideal for those with 'more than 1 monitor'. You could go blind trying to get the colors across 3 different screens to match. Give each one 5 mins with CM. Done! Got mine from the Jungle River website...and works great on IPS or traditional LED monitors. If you suffer from color blindness (red/green is most common in men) - then ColorMunki is a Godsend. I have the problem with Red/Green. So now I'm seeing the scenery the way it was designed... and it even got rid of the white glowing edge at the bottom of the monitor!!! Was completely automatic across 5 of 6 monitors. One monitor I had to follow their on-screen arrows to adjust brightness. all others fully automatic - that is killer! R.
