I had a wonderful flight this afternoon with the A2A C172 above FTX NCA, using only VOR for navigation. It was awesome. Beautiful. Great! I l loved every minute of it. The scenery was incredible, flying with VOR was fun as always and P3D's graphic engine makes everything looks so real. Those shadows, that light, the colors... Man, P3D is really gre........

 

OOPS...! SORRY! My bad! I forgot this forum isn't about flightsimming and the enjoyment it gives us but about problems with computers and limitations, frustrations, disagreements and let's not forget repetitive discussions and the beating of utterly dead horses.

Bad Jeroen!  You know better than to expound on the merits of a simulator in these forums.  As you stated so eloquently, these are for complaining. Not for enjoyment.

 

Naturally, I jest. I've always enjoyed flight simulators whichever generation I was flying at the time. And I still do.

I reinstalled NCA today having applied the hotfix... turned off 'Anti Pop' or whatever its called [thanks for the suggestion - I can live with it, if need be]... I also turned off HDR which I've always had on, and WOW! the darkness has lifted, clouds are white[er] again, the terrain clearer. I then flew for over an hour {looking around and taking screens} starting from Rogers doing some sightseeing around Shasta and finally ending up at Fall River Mill... and best of all this was on MAX Autogen [just to see what happened].... All my previous flight around here ended in an OOM [ALWAYS]  so something has done the trick, for today at least :unsure:

 

Also, I did not see any flashing blocks of trees... and I was looking hard...??

 

I was certainly one of the best flights I've done in my FS history.... no doubt it will all go horribly wrong tomorrow

 

PS I even flew for 30mins around San Francisco, still with max agn, and I could maintain a nice flight with good frames an no issues... maybe I'll wake up in a moment and find it was all a dream :lol:

I enjoyed FS9 and still do!

Best thing I've done recently - turn off the FPS counter. Am enjoying 15-25FPS a massive lot more in P3Dv2.1 than 30FPS in FSX.
